Question About Smoking "In Public"

Can the cops still bust me if I toke in public - discreetly let's say - like in an alley or somewhere off the beaten path - if I have my doctor's recommendation on me?

Additionally, does the state issued ID card give you more protection (in terms of blazing "in public") then just the doctor's recommendation, or is it just flat-out illegal to smoke marijuana in public period in California - even if you're a documented (of either kind) patient?

I wonder if it's like Amsterdam where it's permitted to smoke indoors but not outdoors out in public.

War Breaks Out Within the Marijuana Legalization Movement

A war is breaking out between the Cannabusiness Community, that hopes to profit
from draconian regulation of Marijuana, and the pillars of the drug reform
movement that insist that the self cultivation of Marijuana become an untaxed,
unregulated sacred right. The first shots were fired by a speech by Jack Herer
and the firing of Dennis Peron from Oaksterdam University. Could this be our
"Concord" moment?

Over the past few weeks two things have occurred that should be of paramount
interest to both the majority of American Citizens favoring the Re-Legalization
of Marijuana and even those that don't yet support Marijuana Re-Legalization.

dispensaries and 'non-profit'

so I dont get the whole ' we will not prosecute dispensaries that are operating at non-profit levels'

I mean there has to be some kind of profit to keep any business alive. I need clarification on the who NP thing. Does this mean that I can legally go to my dispensary and give them a 'donation' of any amount and they would have to give it to me?

arent non-profit charities and businesses tax-exempt? wouldnt it make more sense to make this a FOR profit business and tax the dispensaries?

and WHY do they want dispensaries NP? dont pharmecutical profit?

Im just confused.

My first grow...

Hello good people!
I've been a med patient for about 3 years now. Been thinking about growing my personal supply for awhile now. Well, my chance found me as I was given three plants that were started about mid Sept. They were kept in small pots trying to limit the growth until now as their fate was unknown and threatened before I inherited them.

I am a total, complete and ignorant newbie at this so please pardon just how oblivious I might seem to be here. I am starting to do some research now but thought I would as a few questions here.

First off, some pics of my new plants and my initial "grab what I have laying about" setup:

http://www.michaelchung-design.com/photoalbums/black_domina_103009/

I have them in pots that seem adequate for now. I have indirect sunlight and three 23watt flouro bulbs about 4 feet above the tops of the plants. How does that seem to work out for now? I plan to keep them on (the lights) all day for a bit letting them grow up.

Also, they are Black Domina strain.

They are in soil and I water the pots to where they don't feel more than moderately damp on top (on the average) and do not get crispy dry either. Does that sound about right? The only thing I have grown until now are a couple of cacti and they are pretty resilient and don't need to be watered too often so I really don't know how to go about cannabis.

Some other related questions are:
1. When should I move them to bigger pots?
2. When do I know to start cycling the lights so they can start blooming?

Thanks!
MC

State debates legalizing marijuana (California)

California can legalize and regulate recreational marijuana use under state law, but doing so would not change the drug's illicit status under federal law, proponents and opponents agreed at a hearing Wednesday at the state Capitol on a measure to legalize marijuana.

State financial experts testified that imposing taxes and regulations could bring in hundreds of millions to more than a billion dollars to state coffers, but several law enforcement officials also told the Assembly Public Safety Committee that legalizing marijuana under state law likely would lead to an increase in violence.

AB390 would allow possession, sale and cultivation of marijuana for people 21 years and older. The bill, introduced by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, D-San Francisco, says the state would wait for the repeal of the decades-old federal ban on marijuana to create a regulatory system and impose a $50-an-ounce sales tax on marijuana, much like taxes on tobacco and alcohol.

Several ballot measures to legalize adult recreational marijuana use under state law are circulating in California and several recent polls show support amongst a majority of state voters. Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has endorsed a public debate on the idea, although he said he personally opposes it.

Ammiano, who chairs the committee that heard the proposal, said the issue has "really developed a set of legs" since he introduced it in February.

"We feel that this issue in many ways in the past has been somewhat trivialized, but we're sensing ... there's a gravitas to this issue that probably it is going to be inevitable that there is some change in the way marijuana is viewed legally," Ammiano said at a news conference before the hearing.

Legal experts testified that nothing in the U.S. Constitution prohibits California from removing state penalties for marijuana use and predicted a law doing that would not be automatically struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

"If California decides to legalize, nothing in the Constitution stands in its way," said Tamar Todd, a staff attorney for the Drug Policy Alliance Network.

Marty Mayer, attorney for the California Peace Officers' Association, said he agreed with that assessment, though with one big caveat.

"The state of California cannot unequivocally legalize marijuana," he said, noting that removing state penalties would not alter any federal laws.

Use, possession, sale and harvesting of marijuana is illegal under federal law, even for medical use. But U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder said last week that federal authorities would refrain from arresting or prosecuting people who are complying with their state's medical marijuana laws.

One major argument made by supporters is the benefits regulation would have on the state's finances. Financial experts cautioned that their estimates were based on a number of assumptions - as real numbers for how many people in the state use marijuana and how much they use do not exist - but said using models for estimating revenues for alcohol and tobacco shows significant gains for regulating the drug.

The State Board of Equalization estimated that excise, sales and income taxes combined would bring in $1 billion to $1.4 billion, while the Legislative Analyst's Office said generally it would bring in a few hundred million dollars annually.

But John Standish, president of the California Peace Officers' Association, predicted those revenues would be offset by the cost of drug abuse treatment, the costs of people who drive under the influence of the drug or commit other crimes and other social and environmental impacts.

"In 30 years of law enforcement in California, I have seen nothing good come" of marijuana use, Standish said.

And an official with the state attorney general's office said there was a real possibility that legalization would empower Mexican cartels and drug trafficking operations in the state.

"We may experience a spike in violence," said Sara Simpson, acting assisting chief of the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement.

More policy hearings on the issue likely will occur after the Legislature reconvenes in December.

I'd love to hear more on this issue. I feel I'm on the side of Dennis as well. I'm open to changing my mind. But not totally sure about all of this. All I know is I'm NOT on the side of total fucked up shit-ness! Is Oaksterdam really selling out?

BUBBA JON ( I call it Bubba Jawn) my rep said it is a sativa dominant hybrid, but who knows. It was a nice even-keel high, good for wake-n-bakes and equally as effective for ni-night. Great, crisp, clean taste. FANTASTIC aroma. Smells and tastes like orange blossoms in the spring.

just hit the first early branch dried on top of life wonderful lemony smell not sure about taste yet but have a feeling it will be really nice once fully cured and the high is awesome - love this and definately recommend to sativa lovers out there. Even this early branch is nice and mellow all in the head with just the right amount of body buzz to balance any raciness?

Blueberry I harvest early and put in fridge for two days but the treatment did not seem to darken the blue any? Won't be trying any of it until it cures for three or four days. (Once it dries on the outside, I'll fully trim it out and jar cure it because humidity is so low around here it would otherwise fully dry in about five days - with jars I can stretch that out to about two to three weeks easy and especially both of these fruity buds will get outrageously better)

pulled it a little early and it has a nice balanced head/body high not a ball buster high mellow good for morning or evening depending upon ones taste - didn't blue up but a little violet color - but soft taste and soft smell of blueberry.
good for anyway wants a fairly balanced not overly strong indica with a nice taste and smell of blueberry
(i can see why work has been done to beef up the potency of the Blueberry)

New medical marijuana policy issued

By DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writer Devlin Barrett, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – The Obama administration will not seek to arrest medical marijuana users and suppliers as long as they conform to state laws, under new policy guidelines to be sent to federal prosecutors Monday.

Two Justice Department officials described the new policy to The Associated Press, saying prosecutors will be told it is not a good use of their time to arrest people who use or provide medical marijuana in strict compliance with state laws.

The new policy is a significant departure from the Bush administration, which insisted it would continue to enforce federal anti-pot laws regardless of state codes.

Fourteen states allow some use of marijuana for medical purposes: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.

California is unique among those for the widespread presence of dispensaries — businesses that sell marijuana and even advertise their services. Colorado also has several dispensaries, and Rhode Island and New Mexico are in the process of licensing providers, according to the Marijuana Policy Project, a group that promotes the decriminalization of marijuana use.

Attorney General Eric Holder said in March that he wanted federal law enforcement officials to pursue those who violate both federal and state law, but it has not been clear how that goal would be put into practice.

A three-page memo spelling out the policy is expected to be sent Monday to federal prosecutors in the 14 states, and also to top officials at the FBI and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The memo, the officials said, emphasizes that prosecutors have wide discretion in choosing which cases to pursue, and says it is not a good use of federal manpower to prosecute those who are without a doubt in compliance with state law.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the legal guidance before it is issued.

"This is a major step forward," said Bruce Mirken, communications director for the Marijuana Policy Project. "This change in policy moves the federal government dramatically toward respecting scientific and practical reality."

At the same time, the officials said, the government will still prosecute those who use medical marijuana as a cover for other illegal activity. The memo particularly warns that some suspects may hide old-fashioned drug dealing or other crimes behind a medical marijuana business.

In particular, the memo urges prosecutors to pursue marijuana cases which involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or other crimes.

And while the policy memo describes a change in priorities away from prosecuting medical marijuana cases, it does not rule out the possibility that the federal government could still prosecute someone whose activities are allowed under state law.

The memo, officials said, is designed to give a sense of prosecutorial priorities to U.S. Attorneys in the states that allow medical marijuana. It notes that pot sales in the United States are the largest source of money for violent Mexican drug cartels, but adds that federal law enforcement agencies have limited resources.

Medical marijuana advocates have been anxious to see exactly how the administration would implement candidate Barack Obama's repeated promises to change the policy in situations in which state laws allow the use of medical marijuana.

Shortly after Obama took office, DEA agents raided four dispensaries in Los Angeles, prompting confusion about the government's plans.

i'll be moving the cafe north at the end of the month not sure where yet somewhere in the mountains remote and scenic somewhere along the western side of the sangre de cristo range

Apparently Lettuce loves Red LEDs It's way better than florescent light and the red is the single color that kicks the chlorophyll process in to gear.
http://www.metaefficient.com/hydroponics/red-leds-to-grow-lettuce.html

But Blue is important for flowering.

The issue with LEDs is the learning curve. Ya gotta learn what power supplies work for how many LEDs. How to calculate forward voltages.

But with a little learning or the right hardware you can solder up a set of boards of LEDS of whatever size you want assembling them in parallel with a little resister on each one that attenuated the voltage to the LED it's driving: 2 volts for red and 4 for Blue.

I haven't got my head around the power supply issue .

Lemon Haze & Blueberry grow

)) Day 20 of Flowering ((

Added a little PH up to last two waterings of Outdoor girls along with lots of Ionic Bloom, a little Florilicious, Cal & Silica as well as BudXL. Prebuds showing their first white hairs while indoor plants have well developed bud now with the Classic Blueberry clearly light years ahead of the Lemon Haze so the indoor lemon haze may not be all that far ahead of the outdoor haze. The race is on.

Indoors flushed yesterday will add back all of the above along with a little probiotics today. I was up to about an EC of 2.0 and I’ll back down to a max of 1.5 since they looked like they were getting ready to burn and not using nutrient from day to day. I think the BudXL really enhances uptake of nutrient at least judging from two grows now. In both cases when I start adding it, the plants showed signs of nutrient sensitivity and the BudXL claims to enhance movement and uptake of particularly sugars from the leaf into the bud?

anyway, really digging this "House & Garden Bud XL" it's obviously got some boom and pow to it. I'll be trying their finishing agent - Shooting Star (suger) again this grow but from the first grow, it seemed to do its job. The smell and taste are heavenly.

for my first commercial grow i'll be using all their products - well, not all! I like to use a bloom and grow formula along with a micronutrient formula (florilicious is what I've always used for this) and bacteria and microrganisms along with silica (used to call it Barricade?) and then the BudXL and Shooting Star to finish along with a little bit of cal/mag towards the middle of flowering and Bushmaster as needed with some plants or in some grow situations right around lights out and also I'll use liquid light in some situations to maintain a sea of green eveness - the liquid light I spray on stragglers to bring them up to the more vigirous plants and it kind of works. Doubt that I'll need the Bushmaster or Liquid Light in the commercial grow? Can't wait to find out!

hydro growing - PH & PPM/EC

what i like most about hydroponics is being able to have very precise control of your grow

One of the key things to watch in terms more advaced hydroponics is the relative changes in PPM or EC - the changes in the amount of nutrients in your hydroponic water - i've always used DWC (Deep Water Culture) which I think is best for small grows. But what is important is whether or not your plants are using nutrients or not and this is easily known by simply taking a reading and then either keeping track in your head or writing it down - I use yellow sticky pads which are all over the front of my grow cabinet. Computer savvy growers can easily chart this on a graph. You could look at just a graph of a grow and almost tell how the plants look without actually looking at them.

Basically, you want the nutrient level to go down every day - although, it may hold a day, but overall you want to see your PPM or EC going consistently dropping over time. This shows that the plants are using nutrient. When the nutrient solution stops going down and holds for two or three days then it is time to flush - my last flush came at day 11 when the EC went from 1.7 up to 1.9 - the wrong way. Usually with hydro you flush every ten days.

What happens is that over time the plants use nutrients but at uneven levels so that after ten days or so your EC or PPM reading may show a "good number" but the nutrient mix may have built up one nutrient that say the plants were not using so much and the nutrient mix might be weak in another nutrient that the plants have been using a lot of - and also, the nutrients can build up salts over time and this can cause a lock out - lock out is the most common problem and it causes the plants to show lack of nutrients since certain - or all - nutrients are not getting to the plants. Once lock out happens, adding more nutrient is useless - problem easily solved with a pure distilled water flush of the hydroponic system.

Another way this can be used at a somewhat more advanced level, is to determine the exact PH sweet spot for the plants you are growing - this can really make a difference - nail the PH sweet spot and then you can juice the hell out of your plants without burning them and get maximum growth. Of course, this works best if you have all the same strain in a given hydroponic set up. Also, when doing this, you have to be really really careful because if the PH gets off of the target "sweet spot", the heavily juiced plants will burn literally overnight - a two edged sword, this technique. Of course, one does not have to fly high with nutrient, simply finding the PH sweet spot will help them a lot and when using a more reasonable dose of nutrient level you don't have to worry about burning your plants up. I don't "fly high" any longer, haven't really found that it helps so much.

What you do is watch the PH closely and I used extremes here to make it easier - like I start with PH at 7 - really high PH for hydro - and watch the PPM and EC. By using extremes, I can zero in on the right PH easier. Say PPM is dropping but only a little so I change the PH to 6.5 and watch for a few days - maybe EC drops a little more showing me that I am going in the right direction so I change to a PH of 6 and then maybe 5.5, all the while watching those changes in nutrients closely. Eventually you hit on the exact PH that the particular strains needs for maximum absorption of nutrient and then maximum growth

prepping herb for food consumption ?

Hi

I wonder if you suggest any websites/etc. that show ideal preparation for using herb in food products/tinctures/etc . ?

I am finding that smoking is really tearing my lungs up a good bit .. dunno if it's the strain I have right now or what .
I enjoy the slower come-on and build-up of eating cookies for example with ganja butter in them as ingredient ...
No coughing, red eyes nor smell lingering on clothes, etcetra ...I am not in a med-cann. friendly state ... I have to watch it moreso than you west coast folks do ....

I notice when you grind herb in a coffee grinder you inevitably lose a good bit of resin/trichomes that seem to want to stick to the inside ... that's annoying ...

Legal or Illegal?

Do you think it's worth trying to do everything legally just to be shot down by the Feds or God knows who else? Or do you think it is preferrable to just lay low and interact with a network of people you trust. The only thing I can see as a possible positive about being "legit" is that your name would be on a list that people would be calling. So business would come more easily perhaps. I've been considering starting my own cannabis delivery service. I just feel like being "legit" is most risky than keeping it on the downlow. As if the feds can't read this. lol Seriously though. I feel like some dispensaries are "safe" and appear to be somewhat worry free. But I know people that know people that know people....... etc.... And they say the feds are still a big problem. There are several people that have tried to do it the "right way" and still gotten into big problems. Problems they probably would have never had if they'd not done it by the book / law. It's almost like the state laws are bait that people take that allows the feds to come in and do their thing. Like the fisherman. They dangle it in your face. Then when they catch you they gut you, eat you, and take a big shit. Then off to the next one. ???????????????????? Opinions?

not an outdoor grow guy so i put a dose of Bushmaster to the outdoor plants just like i would in my hydro set up - not a bad idea to keep them lower being out on my balcony - but it did not seem to have much effect on the outdoor plants. Works like a charm indoors which is a big help when growing in a small cabinet.

I guess you need to add more Bushmaster and sooner to outdoor plants?

Outdoor girls (barney's farm Amnesia Lemon Haze) are doing great with buds just forming - started flowering at about 11:45 dark

our big dobie Jook was walking around with her bone treat (very unusual I noted since normally she gulps down anything resembling food man I'd be afraid to have small kids around! "Guys, we're little Bobby get off to?"
Jook - "Burp"

I looked over and she had her paw hanging over my cannabis with bone in her mouth - "No" And she looked at me like, "What, then where will I bury my bone?" But she left the cannabis alone. I'll have to put it on an outdoor table again. I was deliberately giving it less sun when in started budding by placing the container in a shadier spot on the deck. This should speed budding also slightly reducing yield. It'll get so cold around here that I'll have to start bring it in a night. I'd say that within a couple weeks we'll start seeing temps in the 30's at night.

Not your mama's meatloaf!!!

This recipe was given to me from a friend/dispensary owner. Enjoy.

Southern Marijuana Meatloaf Recipe

Southern Marijuana Meatloaf Ingredients

• 1/4 ounce cannabis buds
• 1 pounds ground beef
• 1 package Jennie-O Hot Italian Turkey Sausage (skins removed)
• 1 cup dry bread crumbs
• 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
• 1/2 teaspoon corse ground pepper
• 1/2 cup of chopped onion
• 1/2 cup of chopped brown mushrooms
• 1 large egg
• 1 packet Lipton's tomato soup mix
• 1 packet Lipton's French onion soup mix
• 3 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 cup hot water
•1 jar of Heinz turkey gravy (or Anastasia says make your own)

Southern Meatloaf Recipe Directions

Place a medium sized loaf pan into a cool oven and heat oven to 325 degrees.

Grind Cannabis (preferably in coffee grinder)

Place the hot water into a large mixing bowl and add the soup mixes, then add the butter. Stir until butter is completely melted and soup mixes are clump free. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well.

Shape mixture into a loaf and place in heated baking pan. Cook your meatloaf for approximately 40 - 50 minutes or until an internal temperature of 170 degrees has been reached.

Be careful not to overcook, you want this meatloaf to be nice succulent. Serve with turkey gravy and enjoy!!

this time Barney's Farm Amnesia Lemon Haze and Classic Blueberry. The Lemon Haze is a cross of the Skunk #1 (skunk is in everyghing at some level of genetics!) and Lemon Haze. Since I just grew out a Skunk #1 and I have grown haze before but not Barney's Farm, I should have a pretty good handle on it from the get go, knock on wood. Since the skunk is such a cornerstone strain, I really want to explore it some more. So far I have had really good luck with their seeds and their strains are outstanding. So there is method to the madness especially with a commercial grow looming but always I try to combine my desires as a smoker with my curiousity as a grower and honestly in this i've learned far more than i've read in books.

http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/barneys-farm-seeds/barneys-farm-feminized-seeds/barney-39-s-farm-amnesia-lemon-feminized/prod_728.html

I've never grown purple or blueberry weed before and I know that people will want that proabably more than anything. In fact, if I wanted to just make money, I'd grow nothing but purple weed. But money is secondary to continuing my growing on larger scale that will offer immense rewards in terms of knowledge as well as the ability to experiment on a whole nother level! So I'll grow some purple for sure but expose people to as much variety as I can. I choose this Ceres seed purple because it is a classic exactly like the skunk #1 and I want to see it through a grow before moving on to the many variations.

got the list of medicines today and ordered Train Wreck and another sativa caled Cinco - got plenty of indica! they are charging a little over $350.00 an ounce for it. If I were capable of jumping, I'd jump up and down. I can easily come in under that and make money - hopefully, way under that, like $250.00 an ounce. So good news there. I've tried Train Wreck before but never grew it and I never even heard of Cinco, it was the only other sativa they had. Mostly they have indica, I noticed. They have a lot of strains but because they were so far ahead of all the other growers, they grew them out a good bit, I bet. Had a great yield finally after maybe a three month grow period. I would have done the same thing - really, market strategy. They will still come in well ahead of everyone with their first crop and now that first crop will be large.
By the time I get in, I'll grow a small fast crop because I doubt that I will sell out. This place being first, they will sell out fast, I bet. I hope I get what I ordered?
Bad news is that the commercial company that I was paying to set up my non profit has backed out, claiming it is impossible because of the federal government bla bla bla - man we sure are terrified of a plant - it's fucking stupid, man. If the govt can come after us for a plant then they can come after us for literally any stupid thing - because we're jewish or christian or because we eat meat or because we don't eat meat - use your imagination, evidently the government does

LSD & Skunk #1 Conclusions

I choose these two because I have never grown indica before and considering MM biz and that most patients seem to prefer the indicas for their higher cannabinoid contents, so I wanted to get up to speed as much as I could before committing to a hundred plants. Knowing how important experience is in such matters, I felt that the best way to get up to speed quick was to let the Skunk #1 (orginal) and then a few series of skunk #1 hybrids teach me what I need to know. You have to listen and pay attentin because the plants speak really really softly and then you have to weed through a lot of the shit they say because it is just nuts, frankly. Still, the plants tell me more about what to do than books. But skunk genetics is everywhere so I decided to hook my star to its by trying to understand it as much as I could in three grows from the ground up.

first off unless one is just curious, I would select Super Skunk instead of skunk #1. It could be grown okay in a sea of green with a short turnaround maybe two week grow. (I vegged these 36 days this grow) Budding finished in just over seven weeks so it is fast. It is very domesticated and hearty and seems to be fairly tolerant of nutrients - not like White Widow that could probably grow in a bucket of piss. It yielded really heavily on the crown cola but also had some enormous branches with buds as big around as my wrists and 12 inches long. I would say don't top it and be selective about which branches you leave, leaving ones that in your set up will get the most light. the main cola is not as fat as some of its sister LSD's growing in the same hydro set up but it is a solid mass thicker than a soup can. The super skunk should yield even better and yield better on the branches and have more crystals. This would be a disapointing grow for the first grow as it did not crystal up til the very end and then not at all on the fan leaf. Do not be fooled into think this means that it is not strong. It is kind of a plain jane now in the cannabis world but while it is definately not the sexiest weed around, it is reliable, hearty and rewards with enormous buds.
THE HIGH - this is the most important thing and it is easy as a grower to be seduced by big buds and especially big buds with lots of glistening white crystals. It is exactly like women. If you as a man choose a woman based solely upon her good looks and big breasts, then you are fool - you have to smoke her first man to see what she is made of! (the last only applies in terms of long term committments and is not meant to disparage one night stands with beautiful, big breasted women in any way) It has a very heavy body load and would make a great sleeping pill if you cannot find your hammer. I will be growing some Super Skunk my first grow just for this reason. If patients need help sleeping especially or if they just like that can't-move-drooling-on-your-chest narcotic high. It has a nice fruity and spicey flavor and is kind of like this car I drove once in that there is not a damn thing wrong with it and it had everything in it I wanted but it just didn't have that ... something special. She's just a good old girl. Sure wish I had another medical grower to legally trade for some kind of sativa. i wouldn't mind having a little around but not as much as I have.

LSD - Barney's Farm Feminized LSD

I like the way indicas grow. they are like thick women with meat on their bones, wide hips and great big thighs while sativas are willowly, tall and thin. I really got into them just yesterday cutting away the bigger fan leaves until I could get a good look at what I have. I have kind of coped a feel here and there but I don't like to get into them too much before harvest, kind of superstition? Holy Moly, due to too much heat from the sodium light the very tops of the buds on the LSD's are small maybe as big around as two fingers but below some of the buds are as big around as a professional football! O I like this girl, yes indeed. It has a medium body load and a powerful, trippy head high just like advertised. Having had a lot of experience with sativas, I find the high very interesting. It's like getting a trippy high of a sativa but it is not how can i say? so clean, the body high sort of grounding you. It's good. It's like having an orgasm while the love of your life holds you tight whispering, I love you. Both thumbs up. O may not be so great for sleeping. She would be great if you want to hit it at night and lay in bed giggling and tripping out most the night

Bucket from hardware store with two holes easily cut in plastic lid with razor with 3" baskets. In this case only two holes but could grow very large with only one plant or grow maybe five small plants. A small fish tank air pump supplies a continuous fresh oxogen supply to the bottom of the bucket which enable the roots to thrive in nutrient rich water. The buckets are fairly light containing only about four gallons of water once roots really expand. They can be easily moved around both to fully take advantage of light and for ease of trimming and inspection. Everything available from Walmart except hydro clay pellets and plastic basket in which seed and trunk is suspended above water.
I will have Barney's Farm Amnesia Lemon Haze in one bucket and Ceres seeds Classic Blueberry in the other. the haze could well end up taking two weeks longer to finish so I can pull one bucket and also adjust nutrients separately, a big advantage. You could put four of these under a 400 watt light, I'd say. (of course you could also put them under 1000 watt light or the sun) I've grown up to four plants in one bucket before trimmed accordingly and maybe thre feet tall

genotype and phenotype

http://people.tribe.net/bearsky/photos/de4078b0-94bd-46bc-a989-ce9c780f7447

Note in the picture there are three plants. The one in the foreground is a Barney's Farm LSD strain which is a hybrid of Skunk #1 and Mazar - a solid Indica variety. This one in the foreground is expression the "sativa" growth pattern phenotype of the LSD hybrid. the two LSD plants just to the left that are quite a big smaller but bushier with much heavier branching and will probably yield more than this taller sativa variety. This is what you look at if you intend to do any breeding - which I would discourage, actually. If you must then I think you owe it to the world to grow a plant out like this with seedlings, get to know the strains different phenotypes, looking for something just so, and you have to harvest it and smoke it to know. Then you decide that you like say the Indica phenotype of a certain strain and you know what it looks like in grow phase now because you have seen it before. You look for a particularly hearty plant of this type and then breed that. Boy was that easier said then done.

But there are so many great strains in existence now, I would not mess with new strains unless you are pretty serious. The process could be fraught with difficulties and if you are only growing a small amount for personal, medical use, your breeding program could negatively impact your medicine program. You will have to grow out male plants or mess with serious hormones - no thank you - so this is what I mean by impacting your yields. Then you have to keep back crossing it for many generations so it's a big commitment, I think - like buying a pet! If you do so, settle in patiently because you have five plant generations of work to do! Here's where I would grow in soil - just a huge maybe ten inch deep soil bed and I'd grow out hundreds of these seeds for a couple weeks at a time looking for that special one. When you work with a strain numerous times and pay attention, you will learn to spot the phenotype you are looking for even at this early stage. Hard as you try, they will bounce back to forms you do not want and every generation you'll have to go through this until you see as consistent a plant as possible to what you want coming up when you sow your new strain.

Go ahead and give it a shot - you'll never complain about paying 10 dollars a seed again! LOL

"LSD" Indica and Skunk #1

day eight of 12 hours and they are forming what appear to be enormous buds - but then I'm stoned?

I built up the EC for the last ten days until day before yesterday hit 2.0, every day EC is less than the day before - actually, never had plants use nutrients so agressively before? I know too because I'm using the same hydroponic set up, same size tank, that I've used for years? Maybe it's th BudXL doing what it is advertised to do? Wow, could it be something actually works? It would be at 2.0 late in the afternoon and at 1.7 the next morning and using a steady gallon and half of water a day, four plants.

The solitary Skunk "1 stretched a lot more when the lights were flipped and now towers over the LSD's which are fairly uniform with very tight internode spacing, responding well to the Bushmaster. In the future with the Skunk #1 I would hit it earlier with the Bushmaster, at least if using my using system so limited on space

so today after ten days I check it and it has gone from 1.7 yesterday to 1.9 - whoops, wrong way so I immediately flushed. I find this a key with hydro and if you see the system stop using nutrient whether by EC or PPM or however measured, then it is time to flush. It sounds all technical but is easy. Works the same way in grow just looking for an easy, steady as she goes, with plants using nutrients and water with a flush at least every two weeks or when nutrients stop being absorbed.

This was a fun documentary, maybe especially for older smokers!

"Lost" Chapter of the New Testament Found: Cannabis

These ancient texts were found deep in a remote section of Wastedstan. They are written in sanskrit on goat scrotum.

"Jesus, man, don't begart that joint, my brother," Mark said to Peter, who always had been the biggest bogart of the twelve disciples.

"Okay, Judas," Jesus was saying - god was He wasted, "I'm going to give you $300 bucks and you're going to bring me back an ounce of chronic, right?"

Of course Judas nodding in the affirmative, "yes, yes, of course, my Lord. I will bring you back a big fat ounce," he proclaimed.

"Not some scaggy-assed mexican, either," Jesus said skeptically. Everyone knew not to trust Judas with cash but they were hard up for weed, man - another dry period, Jesus thought. Father how you try me at times, looking up at the sky.

Added "Chronic Pain" to it's small but growing list of ailments deemed suitable to treatment with medical marijuana - a lot of appeals were passed over, like Bi-Polar, but the state will keep hearing appeals both for personal exceptions and additions to the list of state approved ailments quarterly and then the whole state wide system is subject to review yearly. Weird system - surreal times for pot, man

Marijuana and MS (Neuropathy in feet & spasticity in muscles)

I ran out of weed and so okay figured it would be good to dry out for a while, what the hell. I've been smoking pretty much every day since I got out of the hospital in June of 07. Now I'm noticing my feet are really giving me fits - I mean, I've had weird feelings, tingling, sharp and quick nerve type pain before but this is so bad I've been afraid maybe another attack was coming - I'm not afraid of death but I am afraid of another attack. (You would just have to have been there!) My legs have also been really stiff feeling - spasticity? - also. It just dawned on me after about five days that it could be the fact that this is the first time I haven't been smoking cannabis.

Duh, and double duh.

Honestly, I really didn't think it was doing anything regarding these MS symptoms. Now I'm a believer in medical marijuana really for the first time. Before I just thought of it as a route to legalization. This is a good lesson for me especially since I'm in the process right now of getting this commercial business going for MM. Once again I am guided and blessed by some power greater than myself. This power loves me completely so much so that it can beat sense into me when necessary - I have given it that "permission" by aligning myself with it with a blood oath. It is great because this way I don't have to have confidence in myself - believe me, such confidence would be misplaced.

Everything that ever was, ever will be, or is right now is perfect

Ok. Just got my hands on some of the prettiest pot Ihave ever seen. I will admit that I bought it for strictly aesthetic reasons. Im a libra, I cant help it. It was like a little Mardi Gras of color. Lime green, purple and orange. Anyway I have never heard of it, but have had my hands on a few other Diesels lately. But I was so excited about this one that I actually cleaned my pipe for it ;) So here is my review.

smell: average
taste: clean. slightly piney.
smoke : excellent! nice, thick, smooth, heavy hits.
I would also say it is average in density and moisture.
buds: large. The one in the pic is approx 2g.

The high is amazing. And that is a word I NEVER use. Heavy body and head high. Very relaxing. It was a sneaky high, but I was prepared. I mean this shit made my toes tingle when I first hit it. This is nothing like the Diesels I have had lately. This would be a great choice for anyone who has muscular problems or sleep problems.

4.5 out of 5.
I highly recommend this if you can get your hands on it. **pix in Tribe album**

I'm reading with interest of the evolution of the medical marijuana program here in New Mexico. There are now two licensed commerical "Providers" who can grow up to 95 mature plants. Eight more licenses are in process. Only one company is actually growing right this minute and it will not have product until mid-July, they say.

Also, I took note that since the middle of Jan, the number of MM cardholders has gone from 217 to 369 - rediculous small numbers but yet a significant increase in only three months - especially considering that during this whole time - and of course even now - there is absolutely no where to obtain MM in the state! Also, the state is steadily increasing the number and kinds of conditions for which MM is allowed. I have faith that when MM is actually readily available, the number of MM cardholders will skyrocket!

Also, the first grower has proposed "delivery only service" and the state has accepted that. It makes since since otherwise you have people trampsing into your grow facility, not very good for security. Another entity submitted an application not to grow but to only distribute but it was turned down by the state. I also have faith that as this evolves somekind of distribution system will evolve. It's so cool because this thing is blasting off right under my feet.

No one knows much about any details in any of this. (Try to write a business plan when you don't know yields, costs, demand) I've heard that each Provider (with their 95 plants) will be able to supply anywhere from 40 to 80 medical marijuana patients. I'm awfully sceptical of those numbers, though. If the state would allow 95 mature plants and 95 immature plants, it would seem to me that then you could run sea of green operation that would totally kick ass and I'm confident that such an arrangement would allow for one Provider to supply these 40 patients. But limiting it to 95 really puts damper on things - Of course this number was arrived at over a period of time during which the Bush administration was raiding MM distributers in CA and NM was trying to mitigate that problem as best it could - thus keeping under the 100 plant federal limit. (I think if the feds catch you growing more than 100 plants they cut off your balls and stuff them down your mouth before they kill you or something?)

Anyway, seemingly endless paperwork and hassles to negotiate - man I want to jump in their so bad it's killing me! Hopefully, next week I'll have a lawyer and once I get advice on exactly how to proceed, I can move ahead aggressively. I've had a hard time finding the right lawyer. Everyone says, 0 any old lawyer will do! No, I want one who is smart and looks ahead like I do - I"m just not capable of looking ahead in this arena because of my severe business ignorance! When I set this up, I'll be looking years ahead. What I do know is there are pit falls galor waiting in this arena!

God willing, we'll come to our senses and just legalize it soon!

Amerika and an End to the War on Drugs?

Here's my thoughts (I wouldn't even ask for penny)

CA votes next year straight up on legalizing cannabis state wide and if they vote YES look for a tsunami of legalization spreading across the states that may even reach the federal level. Like Bob Dylan said, Money doesn't talk it screams! And much like Obama's fate, the economy plays big into this. Next year if things are not looking considerably better than they are now, states will jump on this marijuana tax band wagon and I think people will be shocked how fast it happens. If the economy brightens considerably - doubtful - then there will likely be more opposition to legalizing cannabis and we may end up dancing the same old dance.

One thing to consider is that what has really killed cannabis in the past has been the media and our media is even more subverted - or completely subverted - than was the media in the 40's. All any opposition would have to do is out some stories that do not even have to be true and have nothing to do with science but everything to do with manipulation - like, "girl raped by pothead" or "Study finds Pot causes homosexuality" - whatever. Could really sink the legalization movement. Many in the movement mean well but they don't appreciate the political aspect of this fight. They think that by presenting overwhelming scientific and medical evidence, they will win. Overwhelming scientific and medical evidence has already lost this war twice to hyperbole and that is an historical fact.

What I have to ask is if my society which is lost in TV, undereducated and in many cases willfully ignorant, which thinks FOX news is journalism - can we make a rational decision here? I will only say that I would be pleasantly surprised and grateful.

If CA votes no - no tsunami but legalization still won't be dead, it just won't be a juggernaut, and all of the above will shift considerable momentum away from the legalization movement.

CA is the fifth largest economy in the world, truly a "country" unto themselves. That CA vote next year is like D-Day in world world II, absolutely pivital in this war.

I'll be up and running and by then and praying there is no right wing backlash in 2012, like the CA vote, Obama's fate hangs on the economy - if it's up, he could walk into office flashing pictures of himself with little boys - if it's down, Jesus Christ's endorsement won't help him!
Supreme Court Hands Medical Marijuana Major Victory

Posted: 05-18-09 12:30 PM

The U.S. Supreme Court handed medical marijuana patients and advocates a resounding victory on Monday, refusing to hear a case brought by San Diego County, which has long chafed at implementing statewide medical marijuana laws.

The state of California, in an effort to systematize the 1996 voter-approved initiative, required localities to implement identification card programs for patients with doctor approval in 2004. Such ID cards are required to enter medical marijuana shops in California and can be shown to police officers who find patients in possession of marijuana.

San Diego County, however, argued that the federal ban on marijuana trumps the state law, meaning they are not required to follow the state law. The county filed suit in 2006. Both the San Diego Superior Court and the Fourth District Court of Appeals rejected the argument, which was followed by the California Supreme Court's refusal to review the case in 2008.

The San Diego Board of Supervisors voted to appeal to the Supreme Court.

"The courts have made clear that federal law does not preempt California's medical marijuana law and that local officials must comply with that law," said Joe Elford, chief counsel with Americans for Safe Access (ASA), a national medical marijuana advocacy group with a large presence in California. "No longer will local officials be able to hide behind federal law and resist upholding California's medical marijuana law."

It is not the job, in other words, of local cops or municipalities to enforce federal laws. In fact, the federal government has never made such an argument. The California counties acted on their own.

The Supreme Court ruling, following the Obama administration's decision not to raid medical marijuana clubs acting in accordance with state law, removes one of the last barriers to full implementation of the state law.

ASA has now given notice to 10 conservative holdout counties (Colusa, Madera, Mariposa, Modoc, Mono, San Bernardino, San Diego, Solano, Stanislaus, and Sutter) of their legal obligation to implement the ID card program. In January 2009, ASA, something of an industry trade group, filed a lawsuit in January against Solano County for its refusal to implement the state ID card program.

Before I got my card and went into a dispensary, I never knew about the differences between the two. I had heard the words, but never bothered to research what they meant, never came up in any conversations. It's now making me wonder what you're getting when you purchase elsewhere. So what is it when you buy on the street? (I'm in Northern CA.)

I was fortunate enough to always find a job that didn't require testing. If a job required it, I wouldn't apply for it, therefore I don't know a whole lot about testing and employers. I am in CA.

Someone asked me what happens if you have your 215 and you're legal, how do employers that test react when you either tell them up front, or you just wait for them to get the results and then tell them if asked.

So what do testing employers do when a 215 legal person applies for a job there?

Thanks. D~

Growing

This medical marijuana law here in New Mexico only allows growing four mature plants (and up to twelve immature plants?) but my system for years has been small and fast, super intensive with ten plants in a very tight area. Totally different deal now and I definately want to follow the law to the letter. Being "legal" is great. It's like I can breath for the first time in years - not feeling like some warlock in a secret baby eating coven or something! I already feel like some kind of alien here on this planet surrounded buy these weird assed earthlings who think dealing pot deserves a greater penalty than child molestation?? I mean I am among a people who could imagine ... UNICORNS for gods sake man that is very, very weird.
Anyway - sorry I'm heavily medicated - maybe i was just used to it. I'm probably moving soon so I don't want to spend a lot of money on either gear or set up so I just used what I had. I have an air cooled 400 watt sodium light on top of an enclosed area. I added a small fluorescent light because I have seedlings in there right now - 4 "Barneys Farm LSD" and 1 "Skunk #1 and i find even a little blue light works great for grow. I set up my CFL's outside and move plants when they show first signs of heat stress under the sodium light in the enclosed system. This is usually two to three weeks into flowering. Then I move them underneath two 250 CFL that are red shifted like sodium lights. By going from the more intense sodium light to the less intense fluorescent light, I think it helps them bud. I'm using Bushmaster to try to keep them under the sodium light longer - I'd like the be able to keep them under the sodium and finish maybe two weeks under the red shifted CFLs - I think that would really hit the spot.
The only way I could possibly grow enough for my medical needs is to grow bigger plants and now I can - I crop them still sea of green still even using liquid light (Dutch Masters) to try and bring along straggler plants or buds, try to keep as even a canopy as possible since the CFL don't have much penetration power

The sheriff in conjunction with CAMP have been conducting raids without warrants on legal growers throughout Mendocino Co. The growers are hauled off to jail, charged with 3 offenses:.growing, distribution and renting a house to grow, given huge bails and have all their plants and growing stuff taken along with any computers, have their bank assets frozen and basically take anything they like. They are usually very late at night and require between 5 and 10 cop cars from different agencies. Between 2 and 6 busts a day folks..and I know this to be true. The jail is full of growers and medical Marijuana card holders who are very sick. One guy was busted for having brownies. In one day 7 growers were busted in Willits and each had under the limit.
. Google it...the fascist pigs are coming down heavy and it is destroying families and the bread and butter that supports that county. After CNN televised Marijuana Inc. it got much worse.

What techniques have definately worked for you as a grower?

Red shifted light with the strains i've been working with really seem to accellerate bud growth in terms of both size and weight - sodiums of course but there are new CFL's out now that are red shifted for blooming and they kick ass - not cheap but very cool running and that's why I had them but then I was so impressed with their performance - big, dense buds in record time with almost no heat, really a kind of plug and play. I dropped one with my MS hands and that was like $150 bucks of oops right there. Not what I expected with fluoro

Also, I bought a "chiller" used to chill aquarium water and even though not cheap I think it was a really good investment. I did not install it into the side of my DWC container but just place it inside an opening in top in place of a three inch pot and given time it lowers the water between 8-10 degrees which can be crucial.

And I don't know how I lived with the Truncheon EC and PPM meter - self adjusting!

Also I use a lot of bubblers since they are cheap and highly effective

I put in a six inch insulated line going from my light with a booster fan at the light and at the end of venting where it exits and that has knocked a good five degrees off of my system - I find running hot to be a real detriment to bud quality as well as increasing risks of various problems

And I like this product because I have a very small, enclosed system so this is perfect in terms of price vs convenience:

Nutrients?

Man you could spend so much money on nutrients that you'd have to sell weed for $1,000 a bag just to break even

I consider myself very conservative here

I use Barricade to help strengthen overall structure and thereby prevent diseases of all kinds - like toughening your skin. You use only a tiny bit so a small amount lasts a long time

I live by Substrate a microrganism innoculant of symboitic organisms - think about how your stomach would have so much trouble digesting food if you didn't have all those good bacteria in your gut! I think this is the single thing I can do to most assure a premium crop, other than the obvious. This stuff is not cheap but you don't use much.

I always use Florilicious for micronutrients and then whatever is cheapest for Grow and Bloom formula and I always keep General Hydroponics Grow and Bloom formulas and I used them every other flushing mixing them with whatever fancy organic formula I got on sale. If you need to save money, save it here. Buy General Hydroponics Grow and Bloom and give them a good long flush and I guarantee even your biggest hippy friends won't know it's not organic! I grew pot for years with this inexpensive formula and I cannot tell the difference with organic formulas even when I've used them all the way through.

The only other things I use are molasses - and I think I'll break down and try some Sweet. I think powdered suger might be better than the molasses

and I put in a little hydrogen peroxide after changing water

Sometimes I use an expensive Dutch Master product called, Liquid Light. It allows your plants to absorb more light so it is especially good under fluoros or in any situation where you especially need the plants to grow. I'm too cheap to use it all the time but it has it's place - for instance, I use it as soon as I see plants that are smaller and I think it helps bring them up with the others, important in a sea of green system. I think it works but wouldn't swear to it?

The medical marijauna seed was a bust but I have a skunk #1 and 3 indica called, LSD coming up

I also saved the last two of my Power African that suffered because of PH problems - embarressing, just when I was thinking what a great grower I was, bang I get slammed back to earth and my wife didn't even have to open her mouth. Lesson learned. I was pushing the grow juice up to about 2.6 EC and it was going okay until the PH got off - long story! - but what I didn't fully account for is that a PH problem of even a relatively minor kind when you are flying high like that with nutrients can kick you in the ass but fast especially when running hydro. If I had been running a more reasonable EC of say 1.6 or 1.8 they wouldn't have been so negatively impacted, I'm sure.

I learned that Power African is a tie now with Jack Flash for the best weed I've ever grown - or smoked. That is of course if one is looking for a sativa high. I'm making myself grow indica now looking forward to starting the MM business. I have a good feeling about this LSD strain and Skunk #1 was a consideration for my first commercial grow - I want something really safe and domesticated for the first grow. Something like a Super Skunk or classic Skunk that never says die!

YOUR brain as it pertains to the herb

To put it simply, humankind is about to enter the floral stage of its evolutionary development. On the mythological level, which is to say, on the psychic/symbolic level (no less real than the physical level),

Reptilian consciousness did not disappear when our brains entered their mammalian stage. Mammalian consciousness was simply laid over the top of reptilian consciousness, and in many unenlightened, underevolved, underdeveloped, individuals the mammalian layer was thin and porous, and much reptile energy has continued to seep through.

When our remote ancestors crawled out of the sea, they no doubt had the minds of fish. Smarter, more adventurous and curious than their fellows who remained underwater, but fish-minded, nonetheless. On the long swampy road to a primate configuration, however, we developed a reptile mind. After all, in those tens of millions of years, reptile energy dominated the planet. It culminated in the dinosaurs.

reptile consciousness is cold, aggressive, selfpreserving, angry, greedy, and paranoid.
Paul McLean was the first neurophysicist to point out that we still carry a reptilian brain, functional and intact, around in our skulls today. The reptile brain is not an abstract concept, it is anatomically real. It has been carpeted over by the cerebrum, but it is there, deep within the forebrain, and consists of the limbic lobe, the hypothalamus, and, perhaps, other organs of the diencephalon. When we are in a colt sweat, a blind rage, or simply feeling smugly dispassionate, we may be sure that, for the moment, our reptile brain is in control of our consciousness.

As the Age of Reptiles was drawing to a close, the first flowers and mammals appeared. Marcel LeFever believes that the flowers actually eliminated the great reptiles. Mammals also may have contributed to their egress (not "exit") because for many early mammals there was nothing quite like a couple of dinosaur eggs for breakfast.

At any rate, our ancestors had by then evolved brains that were both mammalian and floral in their formation. For reasons of its own, evolution allowed mammalian energy to hold sway, and the recently developed human midbrain or mesencephalon, which had folded over the old diencephalon, could be accurately labelled a mammal brain.

Characteristics of mammal consciousness are warmth, generosity, loyalty, love (romantic, platonic, and familial), joy, grief, humor, pride, competition, intellectual curiosity, and appreciation of art and music.

In late mammalian times, we evolved a third brain. This was the telencephalon, whose principal part was the neocortex, a dense rind of nerve fibers about an eighth of an inch thick that was simply molded over top of the existing mammal brain. Brain researchers are puzzled by the neocortex. What: is its function? Why did it develop in the first place?

LeFever has postulated that the neocortex is an expanded memory bank, and it certainly possesses that capability. Robert Bly thinks that it is connected somehow to light. If the reptile brain equates with cold and the mammal brain with warmth, then the neocortex equates with light. BIy's hunch makes a lot of sense because the third brain is a floral brain and flowers extract energy from light.

Even prior to the mysterious appearance of the neocortex, our brains had strong floral characterisffcs. The whole brain is described in science as a bulb. The neurons of which it -is composed have dendrites: roots and branches. The cerebellum consists of a large mass of closely packed folia, which are bundles of nerve cells described in the literature as leaflike. Not only do the individual neurons closely resemble plants or flowers, the brain itself looks like a botanical specimen. It has a stem, and a crown that unfolds, in embryonic growth, much in the manner of a petaled rose.

In the telencephalon, the new brain, the floral similarity increases. Its nerve fibers divide indefinitely, like the branches of a tree. This process is called, appropriately, arborization. In the proliferation of those twiggy fibers, tiny deposits of neuromelanin are cast off like seeds. The neuromelanin seeds apparently are the major organizing molecules in the brain. They link up with glial cells to regulate the firing of nerve cells. When we think, when we originate creative ideas, a literal blossoming is taking place. A brain entertaining insights is physically similar, say, to a jasmine bush blooming. It's smaller, and faster, that's all.

Moreover, neuromelanin absorbs light and has the capacity to convert light into other forms of energy. So Bly was correct. The neocortex is light-sensitive and can, itself, be lit up by higher forms of mental activity, such as meditation or chanting. The ancients were not being metaphoric when they referred to "illumination."

With the emergence of the neocortex, the floral properties of the brain, which had, for millions of years, been biding their time, waiting their turn, began to make their move, the gradual move toward a dominant floral consciousness.

When life was a constant struggle between predators, a minute-by-minute battle for survival, reptile consciousness was necessary. When there were seas to be sailed, wild continents to be explored, harsh territory to be settled, agriculture to be mastered, mine shafts to be sunk, civilization to be founded, mammal consciousness was necessary. In its social and familial aspects, it is still necessary, but no longer must it dominate.

The physical frontiers have been conquered. The Industrial Revolution has shot its steely wad. In our age of high technology, the rough and tough manifestations of mammalian sensibility are no longer a help but a hindrance. (And the vestiges of reptilian sensibility, with its emphasis on territory and defense, are dangerous to an insane degree.) We require a less physically aggressive, less rugged human being now. We need a more relaxed, contemplative, gentle, flexible kind of person, for only he or she can survive (and expedite) this very new system that is upon us. Only he or she can participate in the next evolutionary phase. It has definite spiritual overtones, this floral phase of consciousness.

The most intense spiritual experiences all seem to involve the suspension of time. It is the feeling of being outside of time, of being timeless, that is the source of ecstasy in meditation, chanting, hypnosis, and psychedelic drug experiences. Although it is briefer and less lucid, a timeless, egoless state (the ego exists in time, not space) is achieved in sexual orgasm, which is precisely why orgasm feels so good. Even drunks, in their crude, inadequate way, are searching for the timeless time. Alcoholism is an imperfect spiritual longing.

In a hundred different ways, we have mastered the art of space. We know a great deal about space. Yet we know pitifully little about time. It seems that only in the mystic state do we master it. The "smell brain", the memory area of the brain activated by the olfactory nerve, and the "light brain, "the neocortex," are the keys to the mystic state. With immediacy and intensity, smell activates memory, allowing our minds to travel freely in time. The most profound mystical states are ones in which normal mental activity seems suspended in light. In mystic illumination, as at the speed of light, time ceases to exist.

Flowers do not see, hear, taste, or touch, but they react to light in a crucial manner, and they direct their lives and their environment through an orchestration of aroma.

With an increased floral consciousness, humans will begin to make full use of their "light brain" and to make more refined and sophisticated use of their "smell brain." The two are portentously linked. In fact, they overlap to such an extent that they may be considered inseparable.

We live now in an information technology. Flowers have always lived in an information technology. Flowers gather information all day. At night, they process it. This is called photosynthesis.

As our neocortex comes into full use, we, too, will practice a kind of photosynthesis. As a matter of fact, we already do, but compared to the flowers, our kind is primitive and limited.

For one thing, information gathered from daily newspapers, soap operas, sales conferences, and coffee klatches is inferior to information gathered from sunlight. (Since all matter is condensed light, light is the source, the cause of life. Therefore, light is divine. The flowers have a direct line to God that an evangelist would kill for.)

Either because our data is insufficient or because our processing equipment is not fully on line, our own nocturnal processing is part-time work. The information our conscious minds receive during waking hours is processed by our unconscious during so-called "deep sleep." We are in deep sleep only two or three hours a night. For the rest of our sleeping session, the unconscious mind is off duty. It gets bored. It craves recreation. So it plays with the material at hand. In a sense, it plays with itself. It scrambles memories, juggles images, rearranges data, invents scary or titillating stories. This is what we call "dreaming." Some people believe that we process information during dreams. Quite the contrary. A dream is the mind having fun when there is no processing to keep it busy. In the future, when we become more efficient at gathering quality information and when floral consciousness becomes dominant, we will probably sleep longer hours and dream hardly at all.

Returning to information efficiency, science has learned recently that trees communicate with each other. A tree attacked by insects, for example, will transmit that news to another tree a hundred yards away so that the second tree can commence manufacturing a chemical that will repel that particular variety of bug. Reports from the infested tree allow other trees to protect themselves. The information likely is broadcast in the form of aroma. This would mean that plants collect odors as well as emit them. The rose may be in an olfactory relationship with the lilac. Another possibility is that between the trees a kind of telepathy is involved. There is also the possibility that all of what we call mental telepathy is olfactory. We don't read another's thoughts, we smell them.

We know that schizophrenics can smell antagonism, distrust desire, etc., on the part of their doctors, visitors, or fellow patients, no matter how well it might be visually or vocally concealed. The human olfactory nerve may be small compared to a rabbit's, but it's our largest cranial receptor, nevertheless. Who can guess what "invisible" odors it might detect?

As floral consciousness matures, telepathy will no doubt become a common medium of communication.

With reptile consciousness, we had hostile confrontation.

With mammal consciousness, we had civilized debate.

With floral consciousness, well have empathetic telepathy.

A floral consciousness and a data-based, soft technology are ideally suited for one another. A floral consciousness and pacifist internationalism are ideally suited for one another. A floral consciousness and an easy, colorful sensuality are ideally suited for one another. (Flowers are more openly sexual than animals. The Tantric concept of converting sensual energy to spiritual energy is a floral ploy.) A floral consciousnes and an extraterrestrial exploration program are ideally suited for one another. (Earthlings are blown aloft in silver pods to seed distant planets.) A floral consciousness and an immortal society are ideally suited for one another. (Flowers have superior powers of renewal, and the longevity of trees is celebrated. The floral brain is the organ of eternity.)

Lest we fancy that we shall endlessly and effortlessly be a the flowers that bloom in the spring, tra-la, let us bear in mind that reptilian and mammalian energies are still verbal much with us. Externally and internally.

Obviously, there are powerful reptilian forces in the Pentagon and the Kremlin; and in the pulpits of churches, mosques and synagogues, where deathist dogmas of judgment, punishment, self-denial, martyrdom, and afterlife supremacy are preached. But there are also reptilian forces within each individual.

Myth is neither fiction nor history. Myths are acted out in our own psyches, and they are repetitive and ongoing.

Beowulf, Siegfried, and the other dragon slayers are aspects of our own unconscious minds. The significance of their heroics should be apparent. We dispatched them with their symbolic swords and lances to slay reptile consciousness. The reptile brain is the dragon within us.

When, in evolutionary process, it became time to subdue mammalian consciousness, a less violent tactic was called for. Instead of Beowulf with his sword and bow, we manifested Jesus Christ with his message and example. Jesus Christ, whose commandment "Love thy enemy" has proven to be too strong a floral medicine for reptilian types to swallow. Jesus Christ, who continues to point out to job-obsessed mammalians that the lilies of the field have never punched time clocks.)

At the birth of Christ, The animal mind was about to be subdued. Christ's mission was to prepare the way for floral consciousness.

In the East, Buddha performs an identical function.

It should be emphasized that neither Christ nor Buddha harbored the slightest antipathy toward Pan. They were merely fulfilling their mytho-evolutionary roles.

Christ and Buddha came into our psyches not to deliver us from evil but to deliver us from mammal consciousness. The good versus evil plot has always been bogus. The drama unfolding in the universe in our psyches is not good against evil but new against old, or, more precisely, destined against obsolete.

Ju

.

When Western artists wished to demonstrate that a person was holy, they painted a ring of light around the divine one's head. Eastern artists painted a more diffused aura. The message was the same. The aura or the halo signified that the light was on in the subject's brain. The neocortex was fully operative.

California vs New Mexico

Spoke with someone at one of the clinics today and found out how different the medical marijuana laws were between CA and NM. It is way crazy loose liberal in CA. We are the only state to have regulations like these - no wonder it took them so long to come up with it. But I am weeding my way threw it all - pun intended. One "Provider" has been graced with a license from the state and now may grow "up to 95 plants or an amount in accordance with patients needs".

Now that NM finally has some process for growers, I would expect that the amount of sick people applying for medical marijuana cards will increase significantly. This one company doesn't even have any product yet. I suspect they are a couple weeks into it. So why have a card when there is no place to get weed?

I'm working on a business plan now and trying to get this thing off the ground here. It is like a 21st century gold rush only there is no rush because so few have realized the kind of gold involved here - well, someone did, there is one approved grower. The location will be given out to those like myself who have NM medical marijuana cards when product is available. All run through the state health dept. complete with inspections. You betcha you gotta have air filters! You also have to be an incorporated, non profit and you have to document - serioulsy - anti-drug program at your workplace!

And I need I partner with no criminal record who is good with their hands and willing to relocate somewhere in the mountains north of Albuqueque and east of Santa Fe - aka god's country. I plan to set house and business at the same location and as crazy as it sounds dispense from there - NM has no dispensing system. I believe that those who get these "Providers" licenses first will end up later creating a system for dispensing. For now it is what it is. But what it is, is not CA. NM seems determined to have only people who serious illness on their medical marijuana program. They may loosen up in the future after there are numerous "Providers" estiblished like CA people will want to buy weed legally and will petition the state health dept with a deluge of "exemption" requests. So for a while at least I don't think we'll see even relative numbers of cardholders here in NM as there is in CA.

Assemblyman Tom Ammiano has a few things to say about the DEA raid on a San Francisco cannabis dispensary, which may have been a warning--not just to him but to the Obama administration as well.

Regreening, Regeneration

did my first experiment with re-greening a crop. Harvested maybe ninety percent of bud and cut out four plants leaving the best five - two White Widow clones, one Power Africa clone and two Power Africa grown from seed. (In the first grow, the clones just kicked the seedlings ass so badly it wasn't even funny - at harvest the clones were maybe five times the size of the seedlings started at basically the same time. This was like an experiment in itself - I've always grown either all clones or all seedlings never side by side like this. But it really demonstrates the efficiency of clones)

But now about 12 days into flowering the re-greened plants, now about four months old, with enormous trunks, the seedlings have basically caught up with the clones in terms of size and even girth of the trunks? Interesting?
They came in after about two weeks of 24 hours light and about 2000 ppm heavy in nitrogen starting regrowth with only one leaflet and very bushy looking nothing at all like a marijuana plant. I'm pretty sure that even someone familiar with marijuana would not know what it is if it were not sitting in a hydroponic setup.

I let them veg for almost a month and half after harvest and now they all have five to seven leaflets but still they do not look like a normal plant at all. I cut off tremendous amounts of leaf as they bushed out like crazy. Over the month and half I finally got them into some kind of shape for flowering, selectively cutting out the smaller branches and leaving the larger. The White Widow - which I'm kind of sick of - I have cut back to four branches only so I could leave more room for Power Africa which is the best weed I've ever grown, maybe ever smoked. The Power Africa have 8 or 10 branches now. They are already forming buds. I think the quality will be fine since I vegged them so long and waited to flower until I started seeing seven leaflets. We will see?

Regreening is good too if you discovered like I did that you have grown a jewel then after the regreening comes back you can clone off of them. I have a very small setup and the timing did not work for clones. I may regreen another Power Africa I have grown from seed and is almost ready for harvest if the smoke is as good as the others and then make some clones off of that. I have been growing for years and Power Africa is the only strain that I would really recommend so far - if you like a sativa high this is fantastic.

Be advised that Power Africa needs extra veg time whether from seed or clone to produce. If you flower them too early you get a fantastic smoke but a tiny yield. Give them at least a month of veg time, month and half if you can. They grow very dense with very tight internodes and it is a good idea to cap them, you'll get a lot more yield. Also they don't stretch too much. If you throw some Bushmaster at this right when you switch to flowering they probably won't stretch much at all during early flowering. It finishes flowering in seven to eight weeks - especially if you pull some early bud the head high is so extreme that you feel like the top of your head is floating above you in air!

Any advice welcome and let me know if I can help with anything, anyone wants to regenerate a crop. I mainly did it because I found the Power Africa to be so good and also just for the experience, never regreened before. I like to experiment.

When will you start to help us from the unsafe cannabis they call medicine in todays Clubs. I want safe access from chemical cannabis and poison pusher called dispenserys. I demand after 12 years ,more accountability from clubs who sell unsafe medical cannabis to be put out of biz. I like to see test results for quality control posted on windows of co-ops. If private clubs cant meet the standards I encourage the State and local agency follow prop 215 guide lines and set up dispensery to supply the long awaited Healing Herb. Safe Access must encourge the development of Clean Co-ops in order to portect patients. Just for fun I wonder what the results would be if you tested 10 samples each from the 4 Oakland clubs and posted the Toxic substances ? Thanks for all the work you have done for us in past and still do! If anyone can help its A.S.A

Also, I would like to get feedback of peoples opinions of whether or not one should post pics of ones grow online? Two women were taking pictures of my car a few weeks ago. Not sure exactly why. I'm involved ( unfortunately against my will & preference ) in some very unsavory spiders webs. Some people say I'm just inviting trouble and setting myself up for "unpleasantness." Maybe sometimes silence doesnt always equal death. And being vocal or high profile does.

New Mexico Update

The state has finalized its "Providers" licensing requirements for medical marijuana growers. It allows up to 95 mature plants. One application has already been approved and the Provider is growing at a secret location somewhere around Albuqueque. Those who have medical marijuana cards issued by the state health department will be notified of the Providers number and address when the Provider is a few weeks away from having product available for sale. I assume that this would be in no more than a couple months from now - depends upon how quick the secret Provider was in getting up and running?

I spoke with a NORML representative for New Mexico and he said the many corporations are now looking for medical marijuana card holders to sit on their "boards of directors" since the state requires a board of directors composed of at least three meidical marijuana patients and a doctor or registered nurse. He talked me into putting my name on a list of medical marijuana patients willing to serve on a board for one of these corporations. All it means is that they will call and talk to me so at least I can gather more information. To get this Providers license you have to form corporation and then get non profit status and then submit this application. I could see where it would take months even for someone with deep pockets to simply get through the applications legal requirements. Not just setting up a corporation and getting it non profit status but things like background checks on everyone involved, including owners and leanholders of rental property. Location and description of growing facility. Description of all these state requirements for workers including an active "anti-drugs" in the workplace program.

Growing the finest pot in the world and telling employees not to smoke it! Talk about an uncomfortable meeting.

I live in Maryland and had seen a Psychiatrist for my Social Security Disability application. She immediately mentioned marijuana as a potential treatment option.
I have a magnitude of physical and mental disorders that could potentially be helped by the medical use of marijuana. The conditions I have are the following: Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Dysautonomia, BiPolar Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder among others.
I had no idea medical marijuana was legal in the state of Maryland. Does anyone have any information on this?
Thanks for your help!

Growing for Medical Marijuana card holders

got my license to grow and my card for New Mexico - amazing thing this?
New Mexico is looking for "Providers" and will give a special license so you can grow for other medical card holders not just yourself - all legal. I'm looking into it now. It would be the perfect job - not to brag but I'm very good at it and I love it!
They don't have dispensaries here like in California. I wouldn't have touched this with a ten foot pole if Obama didn't call off the feds on California but now it seems like a real possibility. I'd have to come up with some capital to overhaul my grow area for a larger crop. Dead broke right now. And I'm not sure how other medical card holders would find growers, looking into that. I suspect they would find you, though!

1st DEA raid under Obama- Call White House NOW!

DEA Scoffs Obama: Raids California Dispensary
Call the White House Immediately!

Dear ASA Supporter,

Can you believe that DEA would act so quickly to undermine and disregard the statements made by President Obama?

Today, the Drug Enforcement Administration, currently staffed by officials from the Bush Administration, raided a medical cannabis dispensary in South Lake Tahoe, California. They did so knowing full well that President Obama has repeatedly pledged to end federal threats, arrests, and prosecutions of patients and their providers in medical cannabis states.

You can see video clips of Obama's statements here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUze-oYsswI) and here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTWZ7W5w48s).

We are shocked and awed! For DEA to act with such brazen arrogance and in direct conflict with the new President’s pledge to end federal raids is deeply concerning. With only weeks left in office, it is clear that top DEA officials are using this transitional period to exploit the differences in policy between the old and new administration.

We need you to act… and we need you to act NOW!

Call President Obama and urge that he issue an immediate suspension to all federal funds used to investigate, intimidate, arrest, and prosecute individuals who use or provide medical cannabis in accordance with their state laws. Call the White House at (202) 456-1111 and say:

"Hi, my name is _____________. Today, the Drug Enforcement Agency raided a medical cannabis dispensary in Tahoe, California. The dispensary was raided by DEA despite numerous statements by President Obama saying he would end federal interference with state medical cannabis laws. I'm very concerned about outgoing DEA officials undermining these state laws and aggressively threatening innocent Americans. I'm also concerned about DEA taking action that is an affront to President Obama's position. I am pleading with President Obama to issue an immediate suspension of all federal funds used to investigate, intimidate, arrest, or prosecute individuals who use or provide medical cannabis in accordance with their state laws. We are being threatened by our own DEA. Please help us."

President Obama's position on medical marijuana is no secret. This is the single most important action you have been asked to take this year. We need President Obama's support. Once you’ve made this phone call, please forward this message to friends and family. Then visit www.whitehouse.gov/contact to copy and paste the above message.

Sincerely,

Field Coordinator
Americans for Safe Access

P.S. The only way we can continue to work with the Obama Administration and Congress is with your continued support. Become a member of ASA today!

California Assemblyman Introduces Legislation To Tax And Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol

February 23rd, 2009 By: Allen St. Pierre, NORML Executive Director

Speaking at a landmark press conference today, California Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco) introduced comprehensive legislation to tax and regulate the commercial production and sale of cannabis in a manner similar to alcohol.

“With the state in the midst of an historic economic crisis, the move towards regulating and taxing marijuana is simply common sense. This legislation would generate much needed revenue for the state, restrict access to only those over 21, end the environmental damage to our public lands from illicit crops, and improve public safety by redirecting law enforcement efforts to more serious crimes”, Assemblyman Ammiano said. “California has the opportunity to be the first state in the nation to enact a smart, responsible public policy for the control and regulation of marijuana.”

The proposal is the first marijuana legalization bill ever introduced in California.

“It’s time for California taxpayers to stop wasting money trying to enforce marijuana prohibition, and to realize the tax benefits from a legal, regulated market instead,” said Dale Gieringer, director of California NORML, a sponsor of the bill.

As introduced, Ammiano’s measure would allow for the licensed production and sale of cannabis to consumers age 21 and over. Licensed cultivators would pay an excise tax of $50 per ounce of cannabis. In addition, the proposal would impose a sales tax on commercial sales. (Ammiano’s proposal would not affect the state’s medical marijuana law, allowing patients and caregivers to grow their own medicine.)

If enacted, the measure would raise over $1 billion per year in state revenue, according to an economic analysis by California NORML, available online here. www.canorml.org/background...ation2.html

Ammiano’s bill comes at a time of growing public support for legalizing marijuana. A recent Zogby poll www.norml.org/index.cfm reported that nearly six in ten west coast voters support taxing and regulating marijuana like alcohol.

Faced with a $40 billion budget deficit, other public officials have joined in endorsing Ammiano’s bill, including San Francisco Sheriff Mike Hennessy and Betty Yee, a member of the State Board of Equalization, which oversees collection of sales taxes.

Currently, tens of millions of dollars are paid annually in state and local taxes by licensed distributors of medical marijuana. However, these sales only represent a fraction of the overall statewide marijuana market. “The millions of dollars raised each year on the sales of medicinal cannabis is only the tip of the iceberg,” Gieringer said. “Kudos to Assemblyman Ammiano for proposing a path-breaking bill that would benefit our economy, safety and freedom by making marijuana a winning proposition for California.”
