Also, your yard and garage become public property and may not be used for use in connection with MM. This sounds dangerous and fascist. I prefer freedom and will not sell it for a little relief. I don't believe that this is such a dangerous drug and that I need to be in a state registry. I am not a criminal.

The local club here in Fairfax doesn't take that card. I have to go to the County to get another card if I want to purchase at the Fairfax club. Medicann did not tell me that, nor did I have a clue that that was a possibility. It was $135 for the Medicann card, the County of Marin card is $113, but will only be $56.50 when MediCal kicks in.

some patient reviews:

just got back from harborside, this place has huge potential. The staff here are excellent. They are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and clearly qualified for their respective positions. Their opening day selection may leave something to be desired but the intensive care grand daddy is top notch and some of the others look pretty decent as well. This is a patient and caregiver collective, they do not force you to designate them as your caregiver in the way many other clubs do. These people are on the up and up, and are clearly trying to provide safe access to medicine for patients while also providing services above and beyond the call of duty. I'd say this place reminds me of BPG, just a lot more classy and a lot less hippy-style(not meant to be derogatory to hippies.

this club is a keeper, folks... the space is clean & bright, with tons of natural light coming in from the windows (yes, you can see in from outside). and the staff is as friendly & professional as they come, too. at this point they've got edibles, extracts, a few clones (jack flash, the odious HMW skunk & a couple others) and a decent though small selection of herbs (a little outdoor, some purples & a few other odds 'n ends). they're striving to have over thirty different varieties to choose from-- a noble goal if there ever was one.

go check this place out & give them the business... they deserve it!

as for harborside - oh my gawd! makes the BPG look like a soup kitchen. We stopped by because we'd heard that they were opening this month and were curious to see the space. We got a little preview (lucked into someone working on the space who gave us a mini tour) and can't wait - this is the club Oakland has been waiting for! Classy, classy, classy. Great BIG space with lots of room in the dispensory and seperate rooms for classes, massage, counseling, etc. If the herb lives up to the space I may just park my car in their big 'ole lot and move into it.

I was able to visit the ultra clean, brand new facility @ Harborsie health center 1840 embarcadero in oakland and I was highly impressed. Upon entrance I was greeted in with a handshake and after being properly checked by security I was instructed into there oreintation room. It was a painless verification process and although I had ocbc my compadre had medicann and his sf card and was able to get verification painless as well. The staff was courteous and they seemed like they were eager to get to helping me.

Med selection:

About 15 different varieties (could be more)

8ths range from $50-60 donation and they have some great concentrates as well. I purchased some Intensive care granddady Purple that was topnotch both in curing and effect. The jarred meds they sell are all sealed and weigh 3.5 grams (checked on my scale at home)

They also had some killer sour deisel best i'd seen in a long time for 55 and some odd 5 purple strains,

For patients on a budget they had purple budlets wich were the same purple nugs they had just smaller for 30$ quite a deal if you ask me..

and for you edible fans they had the standard butter bros products and a couple extras Im sure once they get going they will have a lot more..

Overall Vibe:

Im glad they gave these people the permits to operate this faciltiy because they seem really decdicated to helping patients they have such a huge facility with holistic massage rooms, really nice clean bathrooms and the best part is that the counters. the counters are sort of magnified i guess in wich the buds are very visible and sit on nice glass plates wich are very visible unlike some places where you gotta bend down and get on your knees to look at whats in the bottom of the case.. The place really gives off a more medical vibe than most places and they had a kinda spiritual vibe that i dug in there..

overall Im glad that this place is the feauture of oaksterdamm and I know once the secret gets out this place will be flooded with business..

bottom line:

If your in oakland this is the place..easy freeway acess, good staff and most importantly good meds..

Washington, DC: US Congressman Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced legislation in Congress Friday to strip the federal government of its authority to arrest responsible adult cannabis consumers. The measure, H.R. 5843, known as an “Act to Remove Federal Penalties for Personal Use of Marijuana by Responsible Adults,” is the first federal decriminalization legislation introduced in 24 years. Frank’s pending bill, co-sponsored by presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), seeks to eliminate all federal penalties prohibiting the personal use and possession of up to 100 grams (3 1/2 ounces) of marijuana. Under this measure, adults who consume cannabis would no longer face arrest, prison, or even the threat of a civil fine. The bill also eliminates all penalties for the not-for-profit transfers of up to one ounce of pot. All are encouraged to write their representatives in support of this important legislation via NORML’s online advocacy system.
Washington, DC: Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) introduced H.R. 5842, the “Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act,” earlier today. This bill would make federal authorities respect states’ current laws on medicinal cannabis and end DEA raids on facilities distributing medical marijuana legally under state law. Representative Paul, whose presidential campaign prominently featured the ending of the drug war as a platform plank, was joined by Reps. Barney Frank (D-MA), Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), and Sam Farr (D-CA) in co-sponsoring this bill. All NORML supporters are strongly encouraged to write their Representatives in favor of this important bill via NORML’s online advocacy system.
i seem to have a problem. i live in the States, on the East Coast, and as far as I know, trying to obtain medical marijuana here is still illegal. i have suffered from PTSD, depression, anxiety, as well as alot of pain from physical issues as well. i am currently in southern maine(cape elizabeth, portland) and have no clue as to where to go or who to ask so i can get a script for my ailments. since i don't live in california anymore, i can't get a medical marijuana card and go pick up a script, like i saw other people do.
this really sucks.
ideas, help, anyone?

Authorized medical marijuana user dies after being denied liver transplant in Seattle

Staff
AP News

May 02, 2008 07:02 EST

A man who was denied a liver transplant because he used marijuana with medical approval to ease the symptoms of hepatitis C has died.

Timothy Garon, 56, died Thursday at Bailey-Boushay House, an intensive care nursing center, said his lawyer, Douglas Hiatt, and Alisha Mark, a spokeswoman for Virginia Mason Medical Center, which operates Bailey-Boushay.

His death came a week after his doctor told him a University of Washington Medical Center committee had again denied him a spot on the liver transplant list because of his use of marijuana, although it was authorized under Washington state law.

The case highlights an ethical consideration for those allocating organs for transplant: whether using dope with a doctor's blessing should be held against a dying patient in need of a transplant.

The Virginia-based United Network for Organ Sharing, which oversees the nation's transplant system, leaves it to individual hospitals to develop criteria for transplant candidates.

At some, people who use "illicit substances" — including medical marijuana, even in the dozen states that allow it — are automatically rejected. At others, patients are given a chance to reapply if they stay clean for six months. Marijuana is illegal under federal law.

Dr. Brad Roter, who authorized Garon to smoke pot to alleviate nausea and abdominal pain and to stimulate his appetite, said he did not know it would be such a hurdle if Garon were to need a transplant.

Garon told The Associated Press last week he believed he contracted hepatitis C by sharing needles with "speed freaks" as a teenager. In recent years, he said, pot was been the only drug he used.

We need to turn out a big group of patients and supporters that day to send a strong message to the LAPD, DEA, and elected officials – including our silent Mayor and Governor. There is going to be media coverage and some entertainment, but we mostly need numbers. I need your help to pjavascript:document.postTopicForm.submit()

You can download a copy of the event flyer by clicking on the words “Download, copy, and distribute...” in the lower left hand corner of the page at http://www.ASAaction.org After printing the two page flyer, photocopy the pages front to back to create four double-sided flyers on a single page. Then cut the copies in quarters to make finished flyers. I like to have the copies made on colored paper and cut by the staff at the copy shop. You can leave copies at medical cannabis collectives, coffee shops, smoke shops, or other public places. Be sure to ask permission.

Join us at the LA-ASA meeting at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, to pick up flyers and get ready for the big day. The meeting will be at the Patient ID Center located at 470 S. San Vicente Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90048. Don’t forget to mark your calendars and invite your friends:

hi, how is everyone today?
just wanted to make myself known.

a little bit about me:
i am currently not a medical marijuana user, but am seeking resources to do so, hence my joining this community. i have dealt with an extensive amount of pain and issues for the last eight years, from being diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety, to suffering from an inflamed gallbladder, constipation, very intense periods. I have been on and off medication for my mental health issues, but I can't go longer than six months on regular presribed meds before I physically can't handle it anymore. Herbs and alternative medicine have always seemed to suit my constitution more. I have been treating my physical symptoms with acupuncture and presribed herbs for the last seven months, in addition to seeing my regular doctor here in Maine, and was in therapy from August of '07 to October of '07. I have been in and out of therapy for the last eight years as well.
I have been in Maine(New England) for the last three months staying at my mother's house to pursue financial means to attend a treatment program in Massachussetts and to escape what became a very bad situation with our(my boyfriend and I) neighbor. I am unable to return to the apartment we have shared for the last year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but now, with financial means available for me to get some quality therapy, I also have the desire to return to Florida to have treatment there as well as be with my partner.
Chronic, intense stress and anxiety has been a part of my life since I was a child. I have used marijuana recreationally in the past, but now since I have consciously and actively been thinking about and pursuing a self healing process, a light went off in my head to incorporate it into my healing process. Since I don't live in California anymore, or Canada, I realize there is a risk to getting busted. But since prescription meds don't last long with me, and I feel like I need more than the herbal remedies I am currently taking just for relief sometimes, I am feeling the need to pursue this avenue.
Anyway, that's a little blurb about me. I'm looking forward to finding resources and getting to know people.
thanx,
Terrell

Is Dr T….. and MMJ Consultants of Nevada in Las Vegas. The only Doctor and MMJ Club in Nevada who assist patients and will fill out a Nevada MMJ Physicians Report?
I need a new Nevada Doctor to simply review my current medical condition and permanent disability records, fill out the one page on side form so I can renew my license and be fully legal.

I have a spinal disease injury that requires more surgery and possible transplants in the very near future. I’m about to get my second surgical opinion. While the first surgeon recommended in writing, that I continue using medical marijuana, he would not fill out my State form preferring another doc to do it.

So I'm still looking for a Nevada Doctor. Willing to travel out state for this once a year ritual.

Hi all,

So I was sitting here the other day when I saw a post about Indica vs Sativa and how the Indica would probably be good for anxiety while the Sativa might make it worse. I got to thinking that maybe that is why I can smoke some hash without panic but most herb I have smoked since my anxiety started actually freaks me out more. So I have been wanting to find some pure Indica to test this out, I figure this would be very hard to do with your average dealer who doesn't know what strains he really has since most are mixed these days anyway.

Then it dawned on me that all of my work to help pass 215 back in the day might actually benefit me now. I think I may qualify for MM but I want to ask you guys what you think....

I started having anxiety about 4 years ago which included panic attacks and all of the usual symptoms. I have a prescription for Ativan but I haven't refilled it in about 1.5 years because I have learned to manage my symptoms and much of it has gone away. But I still feel so tired sometimes because I am constantly checking myself to make sure I am ok, I still worry quite often about medical issues, and overall it's hard to just relax my mind and have a laugh now and then so I feel exhausted mentally. I don't want to be on meds because they are addictive and have side effects I don't care for. Plus if I report to my doc that I am still having some trouble my health insurance goes through the roof on prices for many years after.

So my question is, is this enough for me to qualify or would most Doctors be offended that I even asked since I am not suffering in a very serious manner? Also if anyone has a Doctor recommendation near Albany CA that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

When Bill Small began dealing with ulcers years ago, he turned to the use of marijuana to help with a cure and moved to Vancouver and helped launch the British Columbia Compassion Club Society, initially operating out of his apartment. This organization provides low-cost, high quality organic medicinal marijuana to anyone with a doctor’s prescription. Still strong after over 10 years, the club now services more than 4000 members and has assisted another 2500 sadly departed.
Marc Emery, a Canadian cannabis and libertarian activist, is considering a plea bargain to save his two friends from going to prison in the United States. In the following interview on CBC National News, Emery explains the situation.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4uc98rM33M

The plea bargain will most likely sentence Marc to a five-year prison term. In consideration of possible incarceration, Emery is “thinking of embarking on a Farewell Tour across Canada to speak to the people one last time.” The following is the proposed schedule:

St. John's, Newfoundland - Feb. 19
Halifax, Nova Scotia - Feb. 21
Moncton, New Brunswick - Feb. 22
Quebec City - Feb. 23
Montreal - Feb. 25
Ottawa - Feb. 26
Toronto - Feb. 27
London - Feb. 29
Sudbury - March 1
Winnipeg - March 3
Regina - March 4
Saskatoon - March 5
Calgary - March 6
Edmonton - March 7
Whitehorse - March 8
Kamloops - March 10
Victoria - March 12

Emery is also asking for help to raise funds for this tour. It’s estimated that the cost will be approximately $12,500. Once $3,000 is raised, the flights will be booked. The 16-city tour has one message, "Ending Prohibition in Our Time: My Crusade to Free The Cannabis Culture."

You can donate to the FAREWELL TOUR in the following ways:

It’s difficult to explain what it means to witness our society condemn a human being for selling seeds to a plant. Maybe even having the need to explain such a horror, explains why we are at the tipping point, facing extinction due to our destruction of the environment. We, human beings, will never win a war against nature, and by waging it, we are destroying the ecosystem and condemning future generation to a miserable existence on a planet devoid of diverse life.

While we wait for Marc Emery’s future to be decided, we can enjoy and learn from the following documentaries, explaining in detail some of the benefits of Cannabis and the complete disaster known as the ‘War on Drugs’ (Please note that the first few minutes of the first movie are in Dutch, but the rest is in English).

Fast fwd to '95 and I find myself living in Marin County, northern CA, and it is all around the place. Eventually I started up again, but I found that I really didn't enjoy it anymore unless it was just before bed time. I have sleep disorders and it helps.
About 18 months ago, I started developing a case of Restless Leg Syndrome, making it even harder to get to sleep. My symptoms have been worsening this year to the point that I had to take a leave of absence from work just to get some rest. It might be Fibromyalgia, or MS, or ____? I really have no problem not smoking until bed time, but I found that I started smoking earlier to relieve the symptoms. It was only on occasion that I smoke it earlier, but it does work when I need it.

Anyone around the LA area use the Pop Stars brand lolipops many depositories carry in the area? I am wondering about dosage from someone who has tried them out. Currently, I use cannabis to help with my insomnia and complicated sleep due to respiratory therapy I have to use every night because of severe sleep apnea. Typically, I smoke cannabis once a day in the late evening about and hour or so before going to bed. With decent strains, I usually smoke a packed bowl no larger than a medium-large blueberry (not the small ones). It takes me about 2.5-3 weeks to go through an 1/8 ounce.

How would one Pop Stars compare dosage wise, more or less? Thanks.

Matier and Ross
DEA moves to pull pot out from under San Francisco landlords

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is pushing to close San Francisco's cannabis clubs by turning its guns on their landlords - warning them that renting to pot dispensaries could cost them their buildings.

The agency intends to send letters by week's end to 80 owners of buildings housing medical marijuana clubs, similar to notices it fired off recently to landlords in Los Angeles and Sacramento, according law enforcement sources.

"By this notice, you have been made aware of the purposes for which the property is being used," said a copy of the letter sent to Sacramento landlords, signed by the special agent in charge of the DEA's San Francisco office, Javier Pena.

"You are further advised that violations of federal laws relating to marijuana may result in criminal prosecution, imprisonment, fines and forfeiture of assets."

In other words - your building.

The letters set no deadlines for owners to evict the clubs.

At one time there were more than 40 cannabis clubs in San Francisco, although only 28 have applied for licenses under a city permit process that took effect in July.

State law, of course, has no problem with cannabis clubs as long as they are genuinely dealing in medical marijuana, under the terms of the 1996 ballot measure Proposition 215. The feds, however, don't recognize medicinal uses for pot and have periodically raided clubs in San Francisco and elsewhere.

Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, who helped write San Francisco's permit rules, said Tuesday he wouldn't be surprised if the DEA launches a new crackdown.

"The feds do as they please ... (and) they've done it before," he said. "I would only hope they would coordinate with local law enforcement and that they are aware of the new regulatory system we have in place, and are sensitive to it."

Pena would not comment, saying only that he would discuss the new strategy at a later date.

One recipient of the DEA's watch-out letter could be suspended Supervisor Ed Jew, who with family members owns a building on the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue that houses a pot club.

It turns out that Jew has other pot-related tenant issues as well. A house he co-owns on the 1100 block of Ocean Avenue was raided by police over the weekend after the person living there allegedly turned it into a flourishing pot farm.

Police confiscated more than 200 marijuana plants and scores of grow lights during the raid and took an unidentified man into custody.

Records on file at City Hall show that the two-story duplex was owned exclusively by Jew until October, when he sold a partial ownership to a relative for $155,500.

"Ed has got nothing to do with any of this," said lawyer Steve Gruel, who is defending Jew on federal bribery, extortion and mail fraud charges and is also trying to keep the Board of Supervisors from giving him the permanent heave-ho from his seat.

"The police have not even spoken to him," Gruel said.

The Ocean Avenue pot club housed in the building owned by the Jew family was raided by federal agents in June 2005, and for a time was shut down. It now has new owners and has reopened under the name Norcal Herbal Relief Center.

And from the sound of it, business is going strong. An employee told us Tuesday they are open seven days a week.

Divorce court: Looks like 49ers great Jerry Rice may be about to jump from TV's "Dancing With the Stars" to "The Bachelor."

Records on file in San Mateo County family court show that the ex-wide receiver's wife, Jacqueline Rice, filed for dissolution of the couple's marriage back in June, and they are due back in court in mid-January. Meanwhile, their Atherton estate is listed for sale for a reported $22 million.

Jacqueline Rice's attorney, Lindy Barocchi, told us only that "when the parties are ready to talk about it, they will. They have three children, and they would like the media to be mindful of the fact this is very private matter."

Jerry Rice's attorney, Stephen Montalvo, did not return calls seeking comment.

No-ho-ho: What better way for oh-so-PC San Francisco to kick off the holidays than with a memo outlining the dos and don'ts of the season?

First up, let's get the name right: It's not Christmas, it's either the "holiday season" or the "winter season" - at least if you go by the Nov. 21 memo issued to department heads by Human Resources Director Micki Callahan.

Second: Remember that holiday events "should be designed to be inclusive and welcoming to employees from the highly diverse groups that make up our workforce."

(And just in case workers don't get the message, the words "diverse" and "inclusive" appear no fewer than seven times in the memo's first three paragraphs.)

Public displays of religion, of course, are out.

Department bosses can, however, set up "inclusive displays" such as plants, snowflakes or trees - as long as they use nonreligious and nonallergenic decorations.

And definitely no stars on top of trees.

Depending on departmental rules, employees may be allowed to decorate their personal work spaces with religious decorations - as long as they are not visible to the public.

And of course, any decorations must comply with the city's disability access rules and environmental policies on energy conservation, recycling and composting.

"Thank you for your consideration and sensitivity regarding these issues," the memo concludes.

And finally: The Public Policy Institute of California had a forum Tuesday up in Sacramento during which Willie Brown was asked to cite his greatest accomplishments.

Willie: My terms as Assembly speaker and mayor of San Francisco "and never getting indicted."

To which former state Senate leader John Burton quipped, "Yeah, but the statute of limitations hasn't run out yet."

Directed by Jed Riffe

IN POT WE TRUST 88 MInutes 2007

WAITING TO INHALE examines the heated debate
surrounding marijuana and its use as medicine in the
United States. As seriously ill patients demand laws
to protect their right to use medical marijuana,
opponents claim their argument is just a smokescreen
for a different agenda--to legalize the drug
altogether. How did America go from Reefer Madness
mania to permitting the first clinical trials using
smoked cannabis in decades? And what evidence is there
that marijuana can alleviate the devastating symptoms
of AIDS, cancer and multiple sclerosis? Waiting to
Inhale takes the viewer from underground pot clubs to
the U. S. Supreme Court; from an Israeli scientists
laboratory to massive government-approved marijuana
greenhouses outside London. The film goes inside the
lives of patients who have been forever changed by
illness--and parents who have lost children to drug
overdoses and believe marijuana is the culprit. Above
all, Waiting to Inhale sheds new light on the
controversy and presents shocking new evidence that
marijuana could hold a big stake in the future of
medicine.

IN POT WE TRUST
The medical use of marijuana is examined from every
side of a very complex issue with this documentary
that charts the suffering of four chronically ill
patients whose reliance on the illegal drug as a pain
killer is in jeopardy due to federal anti-narcotic
legislation. Also follows a DEA agent.Reform
organizations, prohibitionist groups, politicians,
drug war critics, scientists, and celebrities all get
their say in this fascinating analysis.
Produced for Showtime.

This event is sponsored by the MPP, the Marijuana
Policy Project. There will be informational handouts,
brochures, and activism opportunities.
Marijuana Ingredient May Prevent Mad Cow Disease
Cannabidiol May be Effective in Preventing Bovine Spongiforme Enzephalopathy (Mad Cow Disease)

BBSNews 2007-09-16 -- (IACM) According to basic research of scientists of the National Centre for Scientific Research in Valbonne, France, cannabidiol (CBD) may prevent the development of prion diseases, the most known being BSE (bovine spongiforme enzephalopathy), which is often called mad cow disease. It is believed that the BSE may be transmitted to human beings. In humans, it is known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

The infectious agent in prion diseases is believed to be a specific type of misfolded protein called prion. Misfolded prion proteins carry the disease between individuals and cause deterioration of the brain. The French researchers reported that the non- psychoactive cannabis constituent CBD inhibited the accumulation of prion proteins in both mouse and sheep prion- infected cells, whereas other cannabinoids were either weak or not effective. Moreover, after infection with mouse scrapie, a prion disease, CBD limited accumulation of the prion protein in the brain and significantly increased the survival time of infected mice. CBD inhibited the nerve damaging effects of prions in a concentration-dependent manner. Researchers noted that CBD may be a promising agent for the treatment of prion diseases.
Phillip Leveque has spent his life as a Combat Infantryman, Physician and Toxicologist.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - I guess I’m just getting old (eighth decade). I just cannot understand the recent raids by Drug Enforcement Agency bozos on sick, debilitated medical marijuana patients. I suppose that if the U.S. Government pays these bozos enough, they will do anything they are ordered to, even against sick patients.

One of the worst I heard about was raiding and taking the medical marijuana crop of a bed-bound quadriplegic with the parting sneer, "We could take your car and house, too, if we wanted to."

The recent raid on Don Dupay, a former Portland, Oregon detective who is very sick with Hepatitis C and on a medical disability pension, stretches understanding. He was growing legally for forty other patients, which is a noble act considering the DEA "goon squads."

I will presume these goons are so brainwashed and regimented that they will just obey orders. The really weird aspect is that in California there are 160 legal dispensaries where 300,000 medical marijuana patients can buy their medicine.

THE DEA IS TRYING TO STOP THIS. What birdbrain hallucinated this? In Oregon there are about 15 thousand patients and 7 thousand caretaker/growers; the DEA is trying to stop this. Am I hallucinating? They must be!

British Columbia grows about 20 billion dollars worth of marijuana per year. California is about the same. Oregon, a smaller state, grows about one billion dollars worth.

Even the U.S. Government estimates 70 million people have tried marijuana and as many as 10 million use it regularly. I won’t call this strange; I’ll call it schizophrenic. Who is running this insanity? Whoever it is, they need to burn a little weed and chill out. PLEASE.

College Station, TX: The enactment of state laws legalizing the medical use of cannabis is not associated with an increase in the drug’s recreational use, according to statistical data published in the International Journal of Drug Policy.

Investigators at the Texas A&M Health Science Center, Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, analyzed cannabis use trends among two high-risk subgroups (arrestees and emergency room patients) in five cities and five metropolitan areas in states that have enacted medical cannabis laws. In the four states (California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington) analyzed, researchers reported, "[T]he introduction of medical cannabis laws was not associated with an increase in cannabis use."

Previous studies performed by the University of Michigan and others have also reported that liberalizing marijuana penalties is not associated with an increase in pot use.

Texas A&M investigators speculated that the passage of medical cannabis laws may "de-glamorize" the drug’s use and "thereby [does] little to encourage [its] use among other" non-medical patients.

A previous study of state medi-pot policies by the US General Accounting Office (GAO) reported that the laws have not led to widespread abuses among the general public.

"Fears that allowing the physician-supervised use of medical cannabis will ‘send a mixed message’ to young people or lead to a significant spike in pot’s personal use are unfounded," said NORML Senior Policy Analyst Paul Armentano. "Such concerns, though popular among opponents of cannabis law reform, are based on rhetoric – not fact – and should not guide public policy."

For more information, please contact Paul Armentano, NORML Senior Policy Analyst, at: paul@norml.org. Full text of the study, "Do medical cannabis laws encourage cannabis use?" appears in the May issue of the International Journal of Drug Policy.

Downtown Los Angeles

WHY: Safe access isn't going anywhere on our watch.

WHO ARE THESE WOMEN?
We are not Sondheim's Ladies Who Lunch. We have little appreciation
for cocktails of Flexeril, Ambien, Oxycodone or Actiq followed by
multiple Mimosas. We are concerned patients who are dedicated to the
further enrichment of the Medical Cannabis community and survival of
safe access for all patients. We are your mothers, sisters, daughters
and partners; we seek to merge these traits into the minds of those
who know not what a 'patient is'.

We hope to see you there. Spread the word! The more the merrier.

Thank you!

Excuse the coming vent.

Fuck face Gorden Brown, our new labour prime minister is going to have meetings with the home secretary, to reclassify Cannabis as a class B drug, from C class making possession of the said imprison able of 5 years, instead of 2 years.

Now, if he succeeds, the ole bill would have a much harder job policing the said.

It was the police that asked in the first place to have it down graded so as to free up man power for more serious crimes.
At the moment it is really up to the discretion of the officer, as to personal possession, if you get nicked or not.
Are there not enough people imprisoned and oppressed by this stupid law.
Gorden brown is an ass!

I said a while back that this country was heading down the pan, well I have been proved correct.

So folks, action is needed.

Does anyone know of any active groups that will be petitioning the government on this matter.

This country is really beginning to suck.

If he succeeds then all the work over the last five years will be wasted.

With MAPS fighting in America, plus also 420 ruling, it sounds as if America is the land of the free.

I am sick to death of these fat greasy bastards telling us how to live our lives.

Fuck you Gorden Brown.

I am now wondering what the Police establishment will have to say of this matter, what with terrorism and the such, how will they deal with the increase in work load if this is aloud to pass Parliament.

Comments please

July 12th
Dear Community members,

As many of you know, over the last 48 hours, Americans For Safe Access has been forwarded numerous letters from the DEA to the landlords of Los Angeles medical cannabis dispensing collectives. The letters are all identical except for the specific information about the collectives and their landlords (such as names and addresses). We have received an initial 17 reports so far. However, the DEA claims to have sent the letters to more than 100 landlords.

<br/
