do you buy it on the street?
do you go to a dispensary? if so, what city?
Im not asking for names, just curious as to where you hook-up.

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Tue, May 19, 2009 - 4:03 PMI have a card for California but I recently moved to the midwest.
Before I had the card, a dear friend and cultivator provided it to me when I needed it.
But now I have to buy it "on the street" essentially.
I hate it.
The quality is decent but availablity is sketchy and I absolutely hate the fact that I'm no longer "legal."
The phone calls and meet-ups make me feel dirty.
And I can't get what I want. I need good indicas for the pain but I prefer something more "heady' as a rule
and when you get it on the street, there is no choice. It's more like just "weed" than medicine at this point.
I'm moving back to California in the next weeks and I plan to get in on some of that Oaksterdam action.
Maybe someday, I'll open a dispensary.
...in the midwest, even. -

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Tue, May 19, 2009 - 4:05 PMoh, and the other part I hate is the cost.
At home, I know I can walk into a dispensary and pick up a gram or two of goodness for less than $50.
Here, I'm getting an 1/8 for beteween $60 - $80.
It sucks, I tell you. -

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Wed, May 20, 2009 - 8:11 PMI have been to Coffeeshop Bluesky in Oakland 4 or 5 times and We Are Hemp in San Lorenzo / Hayward once. We Are Hemp has smoking stones for 5 bux. Very cool. They dont have edibles though. I usually just get like 5 or 6 brownies and a gram or two of medium grade at CBS. Just for the record, um, Oaksterdam RULES!!! I would love to go to the University & take their courses. VERY COOL!!! I have seen some social bs around the area but I usually go in the morning or early afternoon and just do the quick in and out thing. I am so over social unrest it's not even fucking funny.
I also go to a dispensary in Arcata. They have three dollar cookies that I can get totally obliterated on with just 1/3 of one. I should cut it in 4 pieces next time. lol It's deceptive. It doesnt look like very much. But then, BAM!!! An hour later I need to lay down. lol After pacing like a madman for 1/2 hour or so. They have many different kinds. So far their highest grade Hawaiian has been the best. They were out last time so said Trainwreck was comparable. It's NOT. I have 6 purplewreck and two strawberry cough going now at my second home. I should check with the PID CTR about having more than one address? Purple Wreck is a combo of two strains. Purple Kush and Trainwreck. Trainwreck is the "original Humboldt strain." Supposedly the best. If you want totally brainy try the Hawaiian. Serious.
I also get over two ounce bags of shake that is about 70% bud for $40 from someone that grows for dispensaries. It's nice because I can use as much as I want for recipes and not worry about the cost. I have only tried the Hindu Kush. There are three other kinds I'm looking forward to trying.
BOINK!!!
PS - My friend was telling me she saw a story about the lady that runs We Are Hemp and it sounds very interesting. The owner of it seems like an incredible woman. I'm interested to learn more. I just wish she sold edibles. I'd go there regularly if they did. Maybe I should ask if they will at some point. I wonder if you have to have some sort of extra license to sell edibles? Not sure. Like how some bars only sell beer and wine but no hard liquor. Anyone know anything about this? -

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 8:47 AMman I would love to have a network of growers where we could share not only advice but comradery, clones, seeds - maybe even weed. I had this great weed Power African but I was sick of it after growing and cloning, I would love to have traded some for something good but different - same with the White Widow. That's the problem with a small system, lack of variety. I'm not going to be cloning anything for a while until I"m up and running commercially for this very reason. Also, here in New Mexico limited to four plants to maturity, I really have to choose carefully and grow longer to have any weed at all, more or less variety. Right now I have three LSD plants (a trippy indica) and a classic skunk #1 and they've been going a month or so and I'll let them veg at least another month before budding. Normally, I would run twelve plants and veg a total of at most three weeks then bud. I've never grown indicas before - so deep green and thick, also spreading out nicely, too. I just turned on the CO2 about a week ago and since I've been pretty sick and my wife been taking care of her, it's fun now every day when she comes out of the grow room with big eyes saying, "I swear they've double in size overnight again!"
But I could easily make some clones for someone in a grow circle and then they could do likewise for me - bigger the circle, cooler it could be. -

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Thu, May 28, 2009 - 8:52 AMi've experimented with seedlings and clones from the same line numerous times and clones totally kick ass when you a short cycling in a sea of green grow but they loose a lot of their edge when you are doing say a long outdoor grow or even a longer grow indoors. The clones profoundly outperform seedlings in the short term but over a long haul things even out and I don't think you get any benefit from the clones other than they may mature a little quicker than the seedlings and then arguably they may turn out to be a little more potent than the seedling.

Re: where do you get your marijuana?
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 6:26 PMI think there are still alot more people that just buy and smoke weed than those that grow it. I've often wondered if dispensaries would have to start turning some sellers away and just stick with their own grows and people theyve been working with the longest. And there are so many more people that use that dont have their card than those that do that the "law" is surely going to be broken as long as there's money to be made. Sometimes I wonder if the quantity limits are monopolistic. lol Seriously. Who sets the standard? Who made the laws? If a grower in whatever county can have x amount of plants and x amount of cannabis, what happens if the alotted plants yeild more than the allowed possession amounts? If your limit is 8 ounces do you have to start trimming buds in a hurry so youre not over the limit? Does it matter if they are still on the plants or not? What if your county only allows 8 plants and 8 ounces for personal use? If there is more than 8 ounces on the plants themselves what gives? Is there some growers license that allows more quantity? Looks like I need to go to the Oaksterdam University courses to get my degree in weedology fo show!!! So I can keep it legal and stay out of trouble. -
