Sun, August 30, 2009 - 8:00 AMokay for us simple folk
(god how I don't miss Bush saying "folks" all the F'ing time!)

what i do is according to this dry area but initially I only trim fan leaf and then I hang the plants for a few days with lots of air in a dark bedroom until they are dry on the outside - usually only a few days here. Then I trim them good and put them in brown paper bags that I close lightly and again leave in dark with lots of air - I like the hang the paper bags from a line with fans circulating a lot of air in the dark at about room temp or lower. After maybe 4 to 7 days depending upon the time of air and humidity, I put them in glass jars. By now they are maybe 3/4 dry but I think this is the important part - I only open the glass jar for maybe an hour a day when low humidity - her 20 percent or lower or maybe for 3 hours a day or more if humidity is high
mushrooms willing, with my new commercial grow faciltiy I'll have complete control of humidity and everything else - oh man! And a separate cure facility. I won't sell any MM for probably a good month after harvest. But then I'm not out to get rich either!! Sick people can't pay $400 dollars an ounce for MM -
