Seal it once, wash it and wrap with masking tape. Seal it again and do the same. Now put it in your underpants and walk through security.
    Viola!

    • That is the best way. Dont count on them respecting our MMJ card.
      • I wouldn't fly with it. I think the best thing is to try to work with the NORML organization (or ASA or other) in the area you are traveling to and see if you can find compassion within the community.
It's a real issue, trying to travel and still be a patient and legitimately disabled. Until Federal laws are changed the idea really scares me.

Be safe, take care of you, and work to change the laws.

        • I would wager that this approach will leave you without any MMJ.

Sure you can usually find some where ever you are going, but I highly doubt this approach will work unless you are going to be there for a while. And if it is a state without MMJ laws I believe you will be totally out of luck going this route.

          Good luck.
          • well....i'm back from my trip folks.....

i uh..... had it wrapped in saran wrap a few dozen times, taped over the saran wrap, then i put it in a snack size ziplock baggie.....after all that, i stuffed it half way in a pound of ground coffee......and then i hoped like hell it would work.

.....it did, or rather, i didn't get caught.

......don't reccomend doing it due to the stress of wondering of they're searching my bag LOL ....among the obvious reasons.

            bad karen. bad.

but i'm home now, and i'm glad i had it with me, because i ended up forgetting my vicoprofen for the accute pain (i have fibromyalgia).

            *whew*

            • Don't put it in your luggage (you were lucky). If you make sure to wear nothing metal and have it in your underwear you will breeze right through. Another thing a friend of mine does is NOT take her electronics out of her carry on (ie. computer, video camera, etc...). That way while they are looking in her bag they never do an extended search of her body. I have traveled over 20 times and never had a problem. One thing I would watch out for tho is the new scanners they are testing in airports (it scans your body and shows everything under your clothes). I guess when that day comes I will start planning vacations that do not require air travel.

This is after the fact but just to add to the database from my own experience...

    1. I don't ever pack my meds in any way - random searches and my luck = a bad outcome. :)
    2. I thoroughly clean, with solvent, a small glass piece and pack that in my luggage. Or, better - I buy a small, cheap piece and pack it new.
    3. I fly the smallest airport possible and/or affordable (at least to depart from)
    4. I bundle up just what I will need and then double wrap it in freezer strength ziploc bags. Then, I fold it up tightly and tape it shut so its a single, compact little packet. Then, I stick it in the most accessible location in my pants - my largest front pocket, usually:

    My reasoning:

    1. Safest place is on my person because I can more easily see a search or a dog coming.
    2. Smaller airports sometimes have less sophisticated security measure and far less traffic
    3. Meds never set off a metal detector and there is currently no body scan at airport security.
    4. If I even suspect they will search me or if a dog is anywhere near me (random occurrences at some airports) I will just toss my packet and walk away outside to make a cell phone call or something and wait it out a bit.

In the end, if I need to ditch, I have no meds but its off my person in a heartbeat. Once through security, I just keep an eye out for random dogs which I have yet to actually encounter.

    • Does it make any difference if the state you're flying to is also MMJ friendly?

Legally...yes. It matters a whole lot, unfortunately. My guess is that in states where it is not legal, getting caught with medical mj is no different then gettng caught with any other controlled substance - not on paper, at least.

        • What if BOTH states are MMJ friendly?

Technically, I think it is still a crime. I wouldn't want to presume anyone would be more understanding in a legal state even if it seems possible. I would assume, to play it safe, that authorities would enforce (especially since it is Federally illegal across the board...).
            My opinion here.
            Peace.

Yes, unfortunately this is still illegal. You are not allowed to "import" marijuana from any other states other than the state you are in (i.e. even though marijuana is legal in Oregon and California, it is illegal to bring California marijuana to Oregon and vice versa).
  • Some folks being woman still put small quanties in tampons and other feminine products. Sometimes the middle of a book and again i have heard sewing it into a piece of clothing, sometimes also packing fragrant coffee in the bag too. i have not taken it many places but the card should be okay tho fed laws are different depending what other state you land in?
  • Candy travels very well, and if made with the right spices, like fennel, it doesn't smell like what it is. I have found that vacume sealing bags work better than anything else...even better than turkey roasting bags. All the saran wrap in the world can let out air for a dog. Handle the vacume bag wtih clean gloves befoe packing your candy which you can wrap like a present.
