Hi
I wonder if you suggest any websites/etc. that show ideal preparation for using herb in food products/tinctures/etc . ?
I am finding that smoking is really tearing my lungs up a good bit .. dunno if it's the strain I have right now or what .
I enjoy the slower come-on and build-up of eating cookies for example with ganja butter in them as ingredient ...
No coughing, red eyes nor smell lingering on clothes, etcetra ...I am not in a med-cann. friendly state ... I have to watch it moreso than you west coast folks do ....
I notice when you grind herb in a coffee grinder you inevitably lose a good bit of resin/trichomes that seem to want to stick to the inside ... that's annoying ...

Re: prepping herb for food consumption ?
Mon, September 7, 2009 - 11:00 PMHow to make Cannabutter /Cannaoil
1 oz cannabis (medical grade)
1 lb butter or coconut oil
Note: Using cannabis flowers will make a butter/oil that is higher in THC content (will be more stimulative). Using cannabis "shake" or leaves will make a butter/oil that is higher in CBD content (will be more relaxing). **We suggest using a combination of both.
Note: Dry the cannabis before cooking with it. Wrap the cannabis in a papertowel and place in a microwave for twenty seconds (20), let it cool for a minute and then heat for another twenty seconds (20).
Melt the butter or coconut oil in a crock-pot set on low. Grind the cannabis (preferably in a coffee grinder). Gradually add the ground cannabis the butter or oil while stirring. Cook in crock-pot covered on the lowest setting with frequent stirring for two (2) to four (4) hours.
Pour the cooked butter / oil through a cheesecloth or french press and squeeze into a container for storage. let the butter/oil cool and then place in refrigerator.
The butter can be kept in the refrigerator, stored as your would normal butter, or frozen in an airtight container for a few months.
Enjoy!!

Re: prepping herb for food consumption ?
Mon, September 7, 2009 - 11:01 PMif your pot is dry enough you can use a basic hand grinder and that should grind it enough.. preferably one that has a screw off bottom so you can collect the kief once it has filtered to the bottom. -

Tue, September 8, 2009 - 6:30 AMI just hand grind and either simply sprinkle desired amount into recipes. Or sometimes I cook it in butter on low. Then use the butter in mashed potatoes or other things.
